Mid Year Slump?
If your family is anything like mine the mid-year slump is real! We have been doing the same curriculum since August, the days are cold and dark, and it's hard to get excited about our daily tasks. Here are a few ways to brighten your homeschool day:
Find a new FUN class. Check out some shorter courses that are supplementary to your core curriculum. You can find courses in the community or online from places like Outschool.com.
Get out and explore. A trip to the Zoo, the Sealife Center, your local park, the Eagle River Nature Center, and the Anchorage Museum are all great places to visit in the winter.
Create! This is the perfect time of year to try a new hobby. How about trying painting, sculpting, model building, wood burning art, or leather crafts? You may want to learn a new skill. What about mechanics, computer building, repair work, knitting, sewing, or cooking?
Download a FREE Winter Boredom Buster Activity Calendar from twinkl.com
Remember, homeschooling not only gives you the flexibility to mix things up but also the time. Why not bounce some ideas off of your advisor and try something new?
