Weddings can be some of the most beautiful yet detailed liturgies. Be sure you know if the couple plans to have a Mass or Liturgy of the Word since this impacts the music planning a great deal. It is customary to have the music selections at least one month in advance. Coordinating details between the cantor and music director is of utmost importance.

Our team member Sarah recently had the opportunity to travel to Italy (Assisi, Florence, and Rome) on pilgrimage with her local priest. Two main musical highlights included chanting Morning Prayer with friars in Assisi before Mass and praying where so many saints are entombed or where they were martyred for the faith. She also visited The Basilica of Saint Cecilia in Rome, built upon the location where St. Cecilia lived and worked. Saint Cecilia is the patron saint of music. She was martyred at this location and her crypt is in the lower level of the church. It was amazing to see! May St. Cecilia pray for us and all our music ministries!
