Hello GMSS families,

What a heartfelt week with kids for me! I was certainly shown love and care from our students for my birthday this week. It reminds me of just how amazing and special MSS kids are every day. OF course, they liked to remind me I might be old and they loved confetti blasting my office! Fabulous!

Parent/teacher conferences links went out for out conference dates in October. Please call the office if those dates get filled and we will create a waiting list.

Our clubs have kicked off with a lot of attendance! Please see the full list linked below from the desk of Mr. Bonath. Being involved is an important part of middle school.

CLUBS

Each week I will share about a way that we recognize students at GMSS - This week’s student recognition update: Academic Award - Honor Roll! At the conclusion of each quarter, grade point averages are calculated and any student with a 3.5 GPA or higher earns Honor Roll. Students are recognized on Honor Roll in several ways - a chromebook sticker is given out to each winner, their names are broadcast in our main lobby in the Academic Hall of Fame, they receive Survivor Team points, and we send a certificate home. Stay tuned for more, next week!

Our PTO is sponsoring our COLOR SPLASH fundraiser this year and every student will be involved! The fundraiser has kicked off and the event is Friday, September 27th. All donations go directly to GMSS. PTO president and vice president came in to meet with students today! This is our one and only fundraiser!

Through a partnership with OhioHealth, we are offering individual and group grief counseling. Students really benefit from knowing that they are not the only one grieving a significant death. If you are interested in these services for your student please email your school counselor.
