On the Ridge

This past Friday, our teachers got to be the students as part of our All Day PD. We were so lucky to have so many sessions taught by our talented colleagues. Sessions included increasing student engagement in social studies, assessment in specials, early literacy screeners, special education strategies, safety care and so much more. Thank you to all of our staff who planned and presented such wonderful sessions and shared their expertise with teachers across the district.

Honoring Dr. King

Please take some time to share the impact of Dr. King's legacy with your family. At Oak Ridge, Character is one of our 7C's. We often highlight opportunities and events where we take our character and transform it into actions. The legacy of Dr. King is one in which his character served as a beacon of hope and inspiration for others to create a more just world.

Character in Action

We are excited to announce an important and meaningful initiative that will involve our entire school community: a Coin Challenge Fundraiser to support those affected by the devastating California wildfires.


Fundraiser Details

  • What: School-wide Coin Challenge (Grade Level vs. Grade Level)

  • When: Tuesday, January 21st – Friday, January 31st

  • Why: To raise funds for families and communities impacted by the wildfires. All donations will benefit the American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles

This is an opportunity for our students to come together, show compassion, and make a difference!

SEPAC

Sandwich SEPAC will be joining Upper Cape Tech SEPAC meeting this month Wednesday, January 22nd 6 PM to 7:30 PM. The community is invited to attend a parent training to transition services hosted and organized by UCT. All information in the link, hybrid option available.

Kindness Week is Coming!

Our school is proudly participating in The Great Kindness Challenge, a week-long program from January 27-31, 2025, dedicated to creating a culture of kindness and compassion in communities worldwide. To help our students practice kindness and put their compassion into action, they will receive a Great Kindness Challenge checklist. We will encourage all students to complete as many acts of kindness as possible at school and hope they feel inspired to continue them at home. Together, let’s lift each other up, cheer each other on and show the world that KINDNESS MATTERS!
