Greetings AOC Families,

I hope that you had a great weekend! This week, we will have a scripted lockdown drill for students in their Freshman Seminar and Advisement classes. This Friday is a Tues/Thurs. schedule. Here is the student bulletin.

Please make sure students have everything that they need for the day. We do not bring any birthday balloons, gifts or other items that interrupt student learning to classrooms. Also, food from Uber Eats and other companies cannot be delivered to AOC for students. This is an unsafe practice and not allowed by the district.

Free lunches are available to all students in the Hart District. The link for free lunches can be found on our website. Orders must be placed before 8:00am.

College Rep Visits

This week we have two college rep visits. Both are in-person at AOC, students can only attend one session as they are being held concurrently. These information sessions are a chance for students to meet a representative from the specific college and learn more about the campus.

Friday, September 20th (7:45am-8:45am); Students can attend 1 session as they are being offered concurrently.

William S. Hart Union District College Fair

Our district will be hosting the annual College and Career Fair on Monday, September 16, 6:00pm-8:00 pm, at West Ranch High School. This is a great opportunity for students and families to speak with representatives from a variety of post-secondary institutions and local industries, attend career/college presentations, and learn about career technical pathway courses offered in the Hart District. The list of colleges participating is attached.

UCLA Open House

UCLA is hosting an open house for students and families. The event is from 9-2pm on Saturday, October 19th. Fall Open House will feature presentations focused on the freshman and transfer admission process, living on campus, and paying for a UCLA education. You will have the opportunity to hear from a variety of academic programs and support resources available that will ensure you reach your full potential. "Attention Senior Acorns!

Pricing for 2024-2025 senior tributes are out now! A full spread can be purchased for $240, one page for $115, a half page for $60, and quarter page for $35. The submission for this year's senior tributes is on December 6th. They are on a first come, first serve basis due to limited capacity, so please fill out the form if you are interested. Both the Yearbook, which is $70, and Senior Tributes can be purchased at the front office from Ms. Perkins either through exact cash or a check made out to AOC.

Fall Break for WSHUHSD, No AOC Classes on Monday, 10/7. COC still in session. We will see you on 10/8, Tuesday when we return from our three-day weekend.

Located on the campus of College of the Canyons, AOC is proud to be the middle college high school in the William S. Hart Union High School District serving students 9th-12th grades in the Santa Clarita Valley. Students have the opportunity to earn between 24 and 44 transferable college units, prior to receiving their high school diplomas. Upon graduation, the majority of Academy students pursue their post high school education by continuing at COC and completing their college transfer requirements in only one year after high school. Other AOC students go directly into a four-year university, bringing their community college units with them and placing themselves well into their freshman and sophomore years at the college level. While attending AOC as a high school student, community college tuition is waived for established California residents.
