Monthly Memo from the Principal

Hope this memo finds you all healthy and ready to tackle the month. We have had a LOT of students and staff out with the flu, stomach flu, strep throat, RSV, and more. Please make sure to keep your husky home until they are fever free, no vomiting, and no diarrhea for at least 24 hours without the help of medication. If you have any questions or want professional assistance with determining if you should send your child to school, please contact our amazing registered nurse, Heidi Rodriguez at 5123-570-6427 or heidi.rodriguez@leanderisd.org.

We have had so many things going on with our Pleasant Hill Huskies so far this year and look forward to what is coming. We celebrated our 100th day of school last week which is hard to believe! We are all 100 days stronger and brighter!

With Valentine's Day quickly approaching, don't forget to check your teacher's weekly update for information on how to safely get items to school for exchange. Each teacher will communicate their plans for cards, snacks, etc. Let us know if you are unsure of what to send. Please send items in your child's backpack, do not drop them in the front foyer if at all possible.

This week (February 3-7) we celebrate National School Counseling Week!! Thank you to our amazing counselor, Laura Mioton. We are all so fortunate to have her at PHE. There will be cases of books (and some posters) for the kids to look at and purchase. Parents can set an eWallet account on the Scholastic website for their child to buy books, send cash with their child or order online and have the items shipped to their home. Please remember that tax of 8.25% is added to the total of each sale.

Restock the Lounge!

Thanks to everyone who helped to restock the staff lounge with snacks. If you still want to contribute, check out the Amazon Wishlist to purchase goodies and have it delivered directly to the school.

February Staff Appreciation - Celebrating Our “Soup”er Staff

We will be celebrating our “Soup”er staff with a soup/chili lunch on Friday, February 7th. Get your favorite Big Game or soup recipes ready! The staff will vote on their favorites. We are looking for 10 slow cookers of chili/soup to feed everyone, plus toppings, bowls, and other items.

Any time your child is absent from school, please email parent letters or doctor's notes to the following email address: plhattendance@leanderisd.org. You may also send these items to school with your child for the attendance office. You can check your child's attendance on the Home Access Center.
