THE SCIENCE OF TASTE CAN BE SWEET... OR SOUR! 🤢
ADVANCED PLACEMENT BIOLOGY students had the opportunity to explore the effects of gymnema tea and miracle fruit on their ability to taste different food items as a way to investigate signal transduction in chemoreceptors. As you can tell from some of their expressions, the results were quite surprising as traditionally sour items, like lemons, all of sudden now tasted sweet!
Special thanks to AP Biology teachers, Ms. Anne Murphy and Ms. Rebecca Wheeler, for proving that the study of science can be tasty!
