Westfield Principal Kristen Ulery
Westfield families:
This was another busy week with the third grade symposium, first grade field trip & biography reports, Girls on the Run 5K, drama performance, and the PTC Spring Sprint after school today. Next week are the kindergarten and fourth grade field trips, and field day is next Friday.
In the midst of all of these fun activities, we are also doing our spring MAP testing and preparing for next year. Don't forget to check out the lost and found. We still have lots of unclaimed sweatshirts, jackets, and other items.
Enjoy the wonderful weather this weekend!
Kristen Ulery
Westfield Principal
The ABC Countdown continues
The ABC countdown will continue through the last day of school. This is a fun activity for the end of the school year where we incorporate a theme or activity for each day of the last 26 days of school. The countdown started on Thursday, April 25, and we have an activity for each letter of the alphabet until we reach Z on the last day of school.
Participation in things like dress-up themes is optional, but the whole calendar is below so you know the themes for each day.
All library books due May 20
All books checked out from the Westfield library are due on Monday, May 20. Please send any library books you have at home to school with your child on Monday, even if that is not their usual day for LMC.
Field Day - May 24
Students will participate in field day on Friday, May 24. Students in grades 3-5 will participate from 9:30-11:15 a.m., and K-2 students will participate from 1:00-3:15 p.m.
Field day consists of rotations of outdoor games and activities, so students should dress for being outside and wear closed-toed gym shoes. There will be some water games, so please send a change of clothes in case your child gets wet and wishes to change. Please have kids apply sunscreen at home if they need assistance as staff will not be able to apply sunscreen for kids.
In the case of inclement weather, field day will be rescheduled for Thursday, May 30.

Drama club performance
The Westfield drama club performed their spring production, Sideways Stories from Wayside School, for all of the students on Thursday afternoon. A separate performance was held after school on Thursday for families. The students put a lot of work into every aspect of the production, and they did a great job!
Girls on the Run 5K
Girls on the Run held their 5K after school on Wednesday. Many family members came to run with the girls or to cheer them on, and the girls were very proud of their accomplishments.
