MHS Community Letter
April 13, 2025
Hello all,
The spring has been happily busy and filled with success in many areas. Most recently, we had our Honor Grade Dinner; additionally, we inducted 104 new members to the National Honor Society, advanced to either the national or world level in BPA, ACADEC, and Robotics, girl's soccer played some great competition in the playoffs before being knocked off by Barbers Hill, multiple athletes advanced to area and regionals from both the boy's and girl's track teams, great showings by our ag students at the Montgomery County Fair with multiple placing and making the sale, Choir students have advanced to UIL State solo and ensemble in May, theater advanced past District in One Act Play, and Baseball and Softball are in full swing. It has been busy. On top of all the extracurricular activities, students have been getting after it in the classroom as we head into the testing season.
Parents and Guardians, I must tell you how appreciative MHS is of your support for our students and your children. Everything they do is strongly influenced, encouraged, and made possible because of you. Thank you!
As testing occurs, I ask that your children be encouraged and reminded that they will be great and not to worry. They have been working hard all year, this is just a moment that allows them to show off their skills.
I do want to keep this newsletter brief to allow EOC testing dates to be highlighted below.
Sincerely,
Dr. Troy Collavo
EOC Testing
Upcoming EOC Test Dates:
- April 15: English II
- April 17: Biology
- April 23: US History
- April 24: Algebra I
We will continue to operate on a regular bell schedule during all testing days, but the bells will be off for testing. The only adjustment is when students go to lunch (lunch will take place during the normal 5th period time; their designated lunch may change). The day before each EOC, during 8th period, we will provide time for students to drop off their computers and chargers and visit their designated testing room to reduce nerves for everyone.
MHS Staff of the Year Winners
I do want to send a big thank you to our entire MHS staff but must acknowledge the five that were voted on by their peers as standouts for the year. Great job and well deserved by each of you.
