Celebrate Stapleton's Cultures Event
Join us for the Celebrate all the cultures that make up Stapleton on Sunday, June 2nd from 12pm-2pm! Learn about the cultures of the families and staff of Stapleton.
Represent the country or countries of your family’s origin by hosting a table or giving a performance. You can bring toys, handicrafts, information, and pictures for display. You could wear or display traditional clothing representing your country. Music, dance, handcrafts, and food are always crowd pleasers. Be creative! The options are endless!
There are four ways to get involved:
1. Host a table representing your families culture!
* All tables will be asked to have information about your culture/country displayed. In addition you can choose to add a traditional food, craft, game/activity, music, ect.
2. You can sign up to give a performance (song, dance, language lesson, etc) representing your family’s culture or suggest a local organization/person who may be interested in performing on the Stapleton stage!
3. Send us photos representing your family's culture and traditions for us to display on a slideshow during the event.
4. Submit a favorite recipe your family enjoys to be shared among the Stapleton community.
Once you sign-up, information will be emailed to you about what you need to bring and what will be provided. If you are bringing food, napkins and forks will be provided. We ask that you have ingredients available or displayed if attendees inquire for food allergy purposes.

Stapleton MCAS & Growth Goal Setting
This is the last week for MCAS assessments. Thank you for your support!
The Goal Setting strategy is demonstrated when students:
- actively engage with the learning goals to plan their own learning
- self-monitor their progress, and provide evidence they believe demonstrates they have achieved their goals
- frame future learning goals based on identified strengths and areas for improvement.
- has a high "effect size" on student learning (Hattie)
Students in grades 3-5 will be taking ownership and meeting with administrators and coaches this week to create a growth goal on the MCAS assessments. All students will seal goal sheets in envelopes and grades 3-4 will reflect on their growth in the fall of 2024. Students in grade 5 are encouraged to put the envelopes in a safe space to open with their loved ones when they receive their results in the mail.
Character Trait of the Month = Compassion
The character education theme of the month for May is “Compassion”. We have defined compassion as “Showing concern or empathy for others”. This month students will engage in lessons focused on working on understanding others’ feelings, and showing empathy and kindness to them. Showing compassion can be easy to do with people with whom we are close to, but students will learn the importance of showing compassion to all people they may encounter in their lives. Students will learn that choosing to show others compassion will bring more peace, happiness, and overall feelings of well being into their own lives as well as the lives of others. Through morning meetings, focused read-alouds, and social emotional learning blocks in their classrooms, students will learn about the importance of compassion. Students will work on recognizing others feelings, and practice acts of kindness, empathy, and compassion. We welcome families to engage in conversations with their children to strengthen their understanding of the importance compassion plays in their everyday lives.
