Assistant Principals Week
National Assistant Principals' Week, April 1–5, 2024, is a celebration of the unsung heroes in our education system. These dedicated folks work tirelessly to bolster teachers, motivate students, support their school, create a positive learning community, and face the many unpredictable challenges that land on their desk.
Assistant Principals play a crucial role, and this week is a dedicated time to recognize them for their hard work and commitment to our schools, students, and profession. Please join us in celebrating these incredible school leaders!
Thank you to Mrs. Oliver for her unending support of our students, staff, and school community!
National School Librarian's Day
On April 4th each year, National School Librarian Day recognizes the professionals who keep the school library in working order. School librarians spend long hours keeping the library organized. They are also dedicated to helping our children find the resources they need to keep learning. School librarians are the people who create an environment where students can learn every day of the year. Their work is an impressive accomplishment.
Thank you, Mrs. Conn, for all that you do to inspire young minds and instill the love of reading! She pours her heart and soul into our library to make it a magical place for all students!
Administrative Professionals Day
On Wednesday, April 24th, we celebrate our administrative professionals, Mrs. Gallagher and Mrs. Miller. These phenomenal ladies help us keep our office and school functioning efficiently at all times. They handle countless requests each day and their support is truly appreciated. We couldn't do it without them.
Thank You for your dedication and service to our students, staff, and school community!
What is ASL Day?
American Sign Language Day (also known as ASL Day) is an event that celebrates the importance of American Sign Language. ASL Day is a fantastic opportunity to educate students about sign language, why it is used, and draw attention to the accomplishments of the Deaf community. This is also a special time to raise awareness of the issues and barriers facing Deaf people and those hard of hearing to help make society a more accessible and inclusive place for all.

PLAYGROUND SAFETY: Educating Students on First Aid
Please speak to your children about following safety and rules. Each year, more than 150,000 children are treated in hospital emergency rooms for playground equipment-related injuries.
Follow these tips to keep your child safe at the playground:
Teach your child not to jump for distance from the swings or other equipment.
Only use playgrounds that are age-appropriate and have safe surfacing like wood chips, mulch, sand, pea gravel or rubber under and around equipment.
Report dangerous playgrounds to the organizations responsible for them.
To help prevent injuries, remind your child to:
- Use playground equipment properly.
- Always swing sitting down.
- Allow only one person on a swing at a time.
- Wait his/her turn on the slide.
- Sit on the slide, and slide on his/her bottom only.
- Use monkey bars for climbing only — not acrobatics.
- Play gently — pushing and roughhousing can lead to falls.
- Never wear jewelry, jackets with drawstrings or scarves when playing. They can get caught on playground equipment.
- Wear proper footwear, such as sneakers.
- Tell an adult if playground equipment does not look safe.

April is Autism Acceptance Month.
This year’s theme across the State of New Jersey for Autism Acceptance Month is Colors of My World. This theme encourages schools to take part in fostering Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) awareness to promote understanding and acceptance for individuals with ASD in their schools and surrounding communities. Our goal is to celebrate the diversity and unique contributions individuals with ASD make daily in the classroom.
To kick off and celebrate World Autism Acceptance Month, we are encouraging all of our Cinnaminson community to wear bright, multi-colored clothing on Monday, April 8, 2024. Students will also participate in various other activities throughout the month of April.
