Meet our College writing coach, Emma Ferreira
Emma Ferreira , Writing Coach volunteer
Hi everyone! My name is Emma Ferreira and I’m currently a student at UCSD studying English literature. This year I will be starting a Masters in Education with the intention of teaching at the secondary level. I have absolutely loved all the schools I’ve attended in my life, which is why I want to continue with my career in this profession. With that being said, for the past 4 years I’ve been a girls soccer coach at my old school, Rancho Buena Vista High School. Out of all the schools I’ve gone to, MiraCosta community college has been my favorite. During my time there, I spent a month in Florence, Italy through one of their study abroad programs. It was the best experience I’ve ever had in my life and one day I hope to go back.
For the past 3 years I have been a writing center tutor at MiraCosta’s library. When I’m not around the school scene, I enjoy crafting, shopping, and working out. I’m currently stitching up a set of cross stitch Christmas ornaments for family gifts this year. I look forward to working with your kids on writing while getting experience in the teaching field!!
Emma Ferreira
Ms. Ferreira has agreed to work with our students 2x per month for writing intervention. Her first class was so beneficial to the students who attended. They were able to write the beginning of an engaging paragraph with her guidance.
District Safety Message
School Safety Message from BUSD
School Safety Message from Bonsall Unified
The recent tragic events at Apalachee High School in Georgia and senseless loss of life are difficult to process. Our hearts go out to their community, and we recognize that our children are looking to adults for support and reassurance. Our Bonsall Unified school leaders and employees take our responsibility for the safety of our school communities very seriously, and we are committed to ensuring that our schools are safe.
To be sure, every Bonsall Unified school has a safety plan and procedures that contribute to maintaining a safe learning environment for our students. These plans are constantly reviewed by school employees, who consistently seek to implement best practices in maintaining the safety and security of our schools.
Bonsall Unified School District works closely with law enforcement agencies to build systems that aim to prevent violent episodes in local schools. In addition to ensuring physical safety prevention measures, educators also emphasize the importance of positive school climate and culture in prevention. We care deeply about our colleagues and our students. We believe that fostering a sense of connection and belonging within our school community is paramount to creating a safe environment.
We also recognize that safety is a shared responsibility. We encourage all students, staff, and families to report any safety concerns promptly. Your vigilance allows us to be proactive in addressing potential issues and maintaining a secure learning environment for all. Together, we can ensure that our schools remain safe havens for education and growth.

The activities are designed for students to practice, demonstrate, and extend their learning of what has already been taught, sometimes with teacher assistance and sometimes independently. Students can complete the activities in small groups, pairs, or individually.
Accompanying these Student Center Activities is a Teacher Resource Guide that offers important insights on differentiated instruction and how to use the Student Center materials.
