1967 TEAM ENTERS FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME
The #PointerNation Football team of 1967 showed out in force with family and friends for induction into the Hall of Fame Friday night!
The ’67 team ended with a record of 7-1, with their only loss coming at the end of the season after a conference championship had been secured. Many of their games were thrilling, and came down to the final possession to decide the outcome. Picked by no one to contend for the title, the underdog Pointers stunned the conference by beating conference favorites Lancaster and Platteville to stand atop the fourteen team conference, and finished their mission to bring home only the third conference championship, the first in 33 years, for the Pointers’ football program.

#POINTERNATION WELCOMES SPENSER MOORE
Let's give a big #PointerNation welcome to Spenser Moore, new Elementary Instructional Assistant!
Hometown: Poulsbo, WA (just across the water from Seattle)
High school: North Kitsap High School
College: Spenser earned her Bachelor’s in Elementary Education, with a minor in Early Childhood Education, from the University of Wyoming. She then went on to earn her Master’s in Special Education from the University of North Dakota.
Previous employment: Most recently, Spenser has been the Education Manager at Southwestern Wisconsin Community Action Program Head Start. She also has experience as a 2nd and 3rd Grade Teacher in the schools of Chestnut Hill Academy, Bellevue School District, and Central Kitsap School District in the state of Washington.
Family: I have been married to my husband for five years. We have a five year old daughter named Lila, a 13 year old dog, and two six month old kittens.
Hobbies: Painting, scrapbooking, paddle boarding
What attracted you to apply in #PointerNation?: Since we moved to MP last summer, we have heard nothing but great things about the district. After spending a year as an administrator, I missed being in a school and working directly with kids each and every day. With my daughter starting Kindergarten, it seemed like the perfect time to make a life adjustment and apply within the district. I’m so incredibly happy to have applied and to be supporting kids and teachers in this amazing district.
Quotable: “My 11+ years of experience working in the classroom with students, from age 6 weeks to 9 years of age, has provided a rich array of experiences, learning moments and valuable life lessons. Because I am an educator myself, I have a firm understanding of how teachers could best be supported when interacting with young children or children with disabilities. I have personal experience working with children with Autism, down syndrome, learning disabilities, ADHD, cognitive delays, anxiety disorders, aggressive and disruptive behaviors, and children who are learning English as their second language. Being a mother of a five-year-old girl as well as working extensively in early childhood education, I believe in the power of relationships and building trust with children in order to provide personalized support. I look forward to working alongside others to provide young children with wholesome learning opportunities, provided by staff who feel supported and safe.”
