Captain Barrington Irving, who spoke at our Summer Leadership Conference, is a National Geographic Explorer and Guinness Book of World Records Holder. He is visiting the DeKalb County School District to speak about his expeditions that led to the fully integrated STEM curriculum, The Flying Classroom.

During this session, on Tuesday, August 25th, Captain Irving will provide participants with an in-depth review of The Flying Classroom and suggestions for implementation. If you would like to attend, the workshop will be held in the Auditorium at Tucker HS from 3:30-5:00 PM on Tuesday, August 25th. This workshop is in PD Planner on SchoolNet listed as "The Flying Classroom."

Note: I had the opportunity to hear Captain Irving speak. His Flying Classroom curriculum would be a great addition to the Science classroom.

This is a reminder that faculty reporting hours are from 7:50-3:50. If you come late or leave early for a non-DCSD purpose, you are expected to complete a Statement of Leave.

We'll have two TOP SECRET rehearsals in my classroom, Room 301A, on Wednesday and Thursday after school.

Again, this dance is REALLY easy, and if you're not the best dancer, sometimes that's more entertaining for everyone.

Nothing is worse than a commute home doubling in time. The right line on N. Decatur road is closed prior to Scott Blvd due to the construction of the new Walmart & LA Fitness.

To avoid this...take a left at Clairmont Rd, Willivee, or Superior. Take either road to Desmond Dr. After taking a right, take Desmond until it dead-ends. Take a right and then another right onto Medlock Rd. Medlock Road will take you to the N. Decatur Road/Scott Blvd intersection (or you can take the left onto Blackmon to avoid the frustrating left turn signal from Medlock onto either N. Decatur Road or Scott Blvd).
