Principal's Message
Hi Wonderful OP Families!
I hope everyone had a wonderful week! We have lots of amazing learning happening at Orchard Primary. Some students will be coming home in the next couple of weeks with letters discussing Title 1 services they will be receiving. Title 1 services are provided during “WIN” (What I Need) time by our para educator team under the direction of your child’s teacher. Additionally, some students will be coming home with Individualized Reading Plans (IRIPS). Title 1 and IRIPs both outline additional academic support for those who need it! Please contact myself or your child’s teacher with any questions about these services!
We have one favor to ask of our families. The classrooms at the far north and south ends of the buildings have air intake vents directly facing the parking. If you are parked in the drop-off lanes directly next to the building please turn off the engine on your car. When cars are idling there, those classrooms can be filled with the smell of exhaust. Therefore, we ask that you please utilize the parking spots in the north and south lots if your car is idling before or after school!
One final note, for those of you who are Almont residents, the sinking fund is on the November 5th ballot! You can learn more about this via this link!
Thank you for all you do to support our OP community. We couldn't do this work without our amazing families!
GOOOOOO RAIDERS!

Dear Students and Parents,
My name is Owen Rayl, I’m a senior Almont High School. This semester for my Senior Capstone project I am putting a toy drive together at Orchard Primary for children in need. I will collect new or unwanted toys for two weeks from September 30th until October 11th, and will work with the First Congregational Church to distribute them to local families! Your contributions are greatly appreciated! Ultimately, the goal is to help spark happiness to those in need. The class who donates the most will receive a party of their choice as a reward. Thank you!

Almont PTA
Hello from your Almont PTA!
Our Fall Fundraiser packets went out last week. Please register your child's fundraiser online to get started at ShopFund.com! This is our largest fundraiser and helps us to donate back to our staff and students here at OP! Orders are due Tuesday, October 1st! Thank you!
Please join us for our monthly meetings. Our next meeting is Monday, October 14th at 4:30 PM in the OP Library. Also, follow our Facebook page for updates and volunteer opportunities. We post lots of good information throughout the week. (https://www.facebook.com/orchardprimarypta).
We can't do what we do without our parents being involved. Contact AlmontOP.PTA@gmail.com for more information on how to volunteer for our many activities throughout the year like color run, field day, teacher donations, Santa shop and stock-the-staff.
We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting in October!
Positive Behavior at OP
We follow the RAD Raider Code. RAD stands for:
R - Ready to Learn
A - Always be Safe
D - Do the Right Thing
Students can earn RAD tickets by demonstrating expected behaviors, and these tickets are entered into a weekly drawing as recognition for positive behaviors. These students will also get to eat lunch with the principal at the end of the month.
Book Vending Machine
Halloween Costume Guidelines
Parent Pick-Ups
We must ask that students not enter our lots without a parent escort for safety reasons. When picking your child up, please park, exit your vehicle and wait outside the door your child exits. Thank you!
