New Year's Resolution Ideas for students from healthychildren.org
Here are a few examples of New Year's resolution ideas for kids (5 to 12 years old):
I will drink water every day and healthy beverages like milk with meals. I will keep soda and fruit drinks only for special times.
I will wear my seat belt every time I get in a car. I'll sit in the back seat and use a booster seat until I am tall enough to use a lap/shoulder seat belt.
I will try to find a physical activity (like playing tag, jumping rope, dancing or riding my bike) or a sport I like and do it at least three times a week!
Here are a few New Year's resolution ideas for teens (13 years old and older):
I will try to eat two servings of fruit and two servings of vegetables every day. I will drink sodas or fruit drinks only at special times.
I will do my best to take care of my body through fun physical activity and eating the right types and amounts of foods.
When I have some down time for media, I will try to choose educational, high-quality non-violent TV shows and video games that I enjoy. I will spend only one to two hours each day—at the most—on these activities.

Unsure of what career you are interested in after high school? Take a career interest inventory. The College Board has a great one that you can take free of cost. If you do not want to give them your email address, click “continue without signing in”. The quiz can be found here: https://bigfuture.collegeboard.org/career-search/career-quiz

Senior Checklist for College:
Make a list of colleges you may be interested in attending. If you can, schedule a visit to see the campus and sit in on some classes of the major you are intending on studying.
Apply to the colleges on your list.
Send your high school transcript, via Parchment.com, to all of the colleges in which you applied. You can also choose to have your SAT/ACT scores sent to the colleges in which you applied.
Fill out your FAFSA. See the schoology update in the senior schoology group for more information.
Apply for Promise and/or WV Invests.
Watch for scholarships. Join a free scholarship search like Going Merry or Scholarships.com.
If you need a recommendation from a teacher or counselor, go ahead and request it now. Often students wait until the last minute and teachers/counselors have to write several at one time. Guarantee you get yours on time by requesting it early!
Follow up with the colleges if you have not received any information about acceptance. The college may need your immunization record or other information to process your application.
Once you have been accepted, pay attention to upcoming dates such as when the housing deposit is due or when you need to confirm your attendance in the fall.
Keep your grades up and finish well. Don’t forget to send your final transcripts to your college of choice after graduation.
