Lamoille North District Update
Lamoille North Supervisory Union l September 27, 2024
Dear Lamoille North Families and Staff,
As we settle into the rhythm of the school year, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for the support and enthusiasm we've seen from students, parents, staff, and the entire community. The first month has been a time of reconnecting, growth, and exciting progress, and we are grateful for the strong partnership that helps make our schools vibrant and successful.
Join Us for Our Upcoming Lamoille North Safe Schools Night!
We are thrilled to share information about our first large community event of this school year! We are excited to invite you to our Safe Schools Evening on Monday, October 28, 2024, from 5:00 pm – 7:30 pm at the Lamoille Union campus for a family-friendly evening focused on school safety. This event is an opportunity for us to come together and focus on the safety and well-being of our students and staff and the larger community and to learn more about our collaboration with local partners who work daily to support all of us.
We are honored to feature several guest speakers who will share insights on important topics such as school safety protocols, mental health resources, and how we can work together to create a supportive and inclusive environment. To ensure that everyone is able to participate, we will be providing food and childcare during the event. Our Lamoille North Nutrition Team will be grilling food for guests, and our Lamoille Union High School Student Volunteer Committee will offer childcare for children 10 and under during our LNSU School Safety presentation.
Our schools thrive when we come together as a community, and I encourage everyone to attend this important event. Your voice, ideas, and participation are vital to making our schools the best they can be.
Register for our free event at the link below. We ask that you do this so we can make sure we have enough food and resource handouts available for everyone.
Partner Spotlight
I am happy to share with you information for two of our community partners, Healthy Lamoille Valley and the North Central Vermont Recovery Center. You can read the monthly newsletter from Healthy Lamoille Valley by clicking HERE. The newsletter highlights upcoming events, educational programs, and ways you can get involved. Check out the North Central Vermont Recovery Center’s website by clicking HERE; go to the Programs and Services tab to see their monthly calendar of workshops and meetings. These outstanding community partners offer valuable resources, opportunities, and support for our students and families.
Lamoille North Community Feedback Survey
In other news, we have received several hundred responses to our Community Feedback Survey, and I encourage all of you to participate. A roughly 10-percent return will not give us a true picture of what is important to the entire school community. Your input helps to guide our priorities in building an annual budget, in understanding the needs of our students, staff and families, and gives us a necessary perspective that we may not otherwise have. Please help us.
Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to working with all of you
throughout the year and beyond!
My very best to you,
Catherine Gallagher, M.Ed.
