Think Spring
There are only 43 days until the official start of the spring season! Head to the countdown below whenever you need a little winter pick-me-up.
School Counselors Week
This week is National School Counselors Week, so we'd like to send an extra shout-out to all of those individuals providing support, guidance, advice, and encouragement to our students. Thank you for listening, nurturing, and helping our students to be the best they can be!
Black History Month
If you take a stroll through the main hallway at LHS, you'll notice that our Black Student Union, Black History Month Committee and Arts and Humanities Academy teamed up to transform it in celebration of Black History Month, featuring beautiful tapestries, inspirational quotes, and photographs of many historical figures who have achieved great accomplishments while blazing trails along the way. Black History not only celebrates these well-known names, but those from all walks of life who are making history every day, all year, in so many ways. This month is a reminder to make an effort to learn about their struggles, triumphs, and ongoing contributions to our lives, communities, and the world.
This Black History Month, try to learn something you didn’t know before. Ask questions, educate yourself, and celebrate the impact made by countless individuals and groups, whether they are widely recognized, or making contributions on a more personal level.
You can start by visiting this site to learn about the history of how Black History Month came to fruition.

Up to the TASK
Students in the LHS Social Justice course recently ran a food drive as part of their end of semester action project. After researching an issue, they planned and executed the drive in an effort to combat hunger and food insecurity, as well as to raise awareness. They not only wrote a proposal to fight hunger in our community, but also advertised their mission and collected donations for TASK (Trenton Area Soup Kitchen). In a short period of time, these students collected about 50 pounds of food to donate! We are so proud of your efforts, ambition, and kind hearts!

"Untranslatables"
Ichi-go ichi-e [ee-chee-go-ee-chee-eh]
Japanese: "once in a lifetime"
This concept consists of the belief that you should cherish every moment and experience as one that can never be repeated. Each moment is unique, and every moment has value.
This phrase can be used in both good and bad moments. When things go wrong, use ichi-go ichi-e to remind yourself that the moment is now past, and learn from it. When things go well, use this to pause and appreciate what just happened.
