Highest Possible Composite ACT Score
The Board recognized Fremd High School student Dylan Bago for scoring a 36, the highest possible composite score on the American College Test (ACT).
Presentation: 2024 Tax Levy Information
School districts are required to prepare an annual tax levy that sets the amount of revenue necessary through local property taxes to support school district operations for the following budget year. Property taxes play an important role in financing for District 211 and are the primary source of annual revenue, comprising more than 80% of total revenue. Chief Operations Officer Lauren Hummel and Controller Barb Peterson presented the proposed 2024 tax levy to the Board.

Approval of Minutes
The Board approved the minutes from the Regular Meeting of September 19, 2024 as well as the minutes from the Special Meetings of September 25 and September 26 and October 9, October 10 and October 14.
Acceptance of Donations
The Board accepted the donations of $8,000 from The Goodman Family Foundation to support Operation Snowball at Schaumburg High School and Conant High School; $1,000 from Lanna Lee Revocable Trust to support the girls golf club at Fremd High School; $1,900 from the Palatine High school Class of 1974 in support of the Ray Mills Fund at Palatine High School; $6,000 from the Rotary Club of Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates to support Blessings in a Backpack at Hoffman Estates High School and Cougars in Need at Conant High School; and $25,000 from the District 211 Foundation to assist with the implementation of the Business Incubator courses District-wide.
2024-2025 Free and Reduced-Price Meal Eligibility Report
The percentage of students eligible for free or reduced-price meals in District 211’s schools ranges from 21.6 percent to 80 percent, and is up by 70 students from the prior academic year. Per Illinois School Code and Board of Education Policy, students who qualify for meal benefits may also qualify for applicable academic fee waivers. Students eligible for meal benefits may also receive fee waivers for the following items this school year including driver education, AP testing, locks, PE uniforms, graduation cap/gown, and summer school tuition. Levy Information
The Board reviewed and discussed the proposed 2024 tax levy. It will be reviewed a second time at the November 14, 2024 Board meeting, when the Board will determine the proposed levy amount for 2024. More information is available here.
Proposed Policy Deletions
The Board approved the deletion of six Board Policies based on the implementation of the District 211 Administrator Compensation and Benefit Package approved June 20. The policies proposed for deletion were initially reviewed by the Administrative Board Policy group, and subsequently by the Board at its September 19, 2024 meeting.

Ten-Year Master Facility Assessment and Capital Improvement Plan Update
It has been the longstanding commitment of the District to provide safe, functional and adaptable facilities that contribute to the educational program and have a positive impact on student achievement. The Board reviewed the Ten-Year Master Facility Plan, including a summary of capital projects and routine maintenance capital projects and an overview of long-range financial planning for capital improvements.

IASB Resolutions 2024
The Board reviewed resolutions proposed by the Illinois Association of School Boards and will determine its collective position as will be voiced by the Board’s delegate at the 2024 IASB Conference. This year’s proposals include a Constitutional amendment, six new resolutions and four resolutions available for appeal. Board President Anna Klimkowicz serves as a member of the IASB Resolutions Committee.

Requests for Foreign Exchange Trips
In 1976, the Board approved the first foreign exchange trip for the District. With the exception of 2000 to 2003, the Board has granted yearly permission for students to participate in foreign exchange trips to a variety of countries. The Board approved seven foreign exchange trips to areas including Spain, Germany and China for summer 2025.

School Year Calendar for 2026-2027 and 2027 Summer School Calendar
The Board approved the proposed school year calendars for the 2026-2027 school year and 2027 summer school. By providing the school calendars years in advance, the District can provide notice to students, parents and staff members as they plan personal and professional obligations to coincide with school events. The development of the school calendar includes a review of significant events observed during the course of the year as well as compliance with state and federal legislation.

The next regular meeting of the Township High School District 211 Board of Education will be November 14, 2024, at the G.A. McElroy Administration Building.
