Commencement Ceremony Privilege
USEFUL INFORMATION FOR SENIORS
It is the philosophy of the Clark County School District that high school commencement ceremonies are designed to honor seniors with commencement activities that are solemn and dignified. For this reason, we respectfully request spectators and graduates to act accordingly. Seniors will need to report to the THEATRE no later than 6:15 pm on the day of graduation. Spectators should plan to arrive at Bruce Eaton Field by 7:10 pm. They will not be allowed on the field until after the ceremony to take photos.
CHECKOUT
Seniors will receive their SENIOR Checkout Card during their first final exam. Seniors will need to have their teachers fill out their Checkout Card and record any fines for lost/damaged books. Seniors will also get signatures from Mrs. Lee (library), Mrs. Regnell (banker), and their counselor (Mr. Bradshaw). Students will be given their cap and gown prior to the “GRAD Walk” assuming all fines are paid and they are on track for graduation.

Senior Day and Grad Walk
Our Grad Walk will be on May 9, 2025. This is part of Senior Day. This event was started in 2015 and has been an awesome addition to our Graduation activities. The morning starts with students receiving their caps and gowns and eating breakfast provided by the Senior Class. Valedictorians, Salutatorian, Top 10 Students, CTE Certification, AP Scholars, ACT Achievement, and President's Award of Excellence candidates will be recognized.
Grad Walk will start at 8:45 am and students will exit the Gym as they begin their walk. The google map highlights our route in red to Garrett Junior High School, King Elementary School, Mitchell Elementary School, and finally at BCHS. Seniors will start the Grad Walk at point A on the map and end at point B. The best place to take photos are marked on the map with a neon green X at the intersection of Avenue B and 6th Street adjacent to Broadbent Park and near the BCHS sign on 5th Street.
Graduation Cords--Stoles--Medals
Graduation cords, stoles, and medals are often awarded to students who have excelled in certain academic areas or activities. They represent dedication, achievement, and mastery in specific subjects or fields. Additionally, cords can also be awarded to students who have demonstrated leadership, service, or involvement in extracurricular activities. They symbolize the broader educational experience beyond academics, highlighting qualities such as volunteerism, community engagement, and leadership skills. Graduation medals, cords, and stoles serve as visible symbols of merit and excellence, honoring students who have gone above and beyond in their pursuits.
