This Week's Focus:
ELA: Recognizing different purposes of media
Science: Plants
S.Studies: Texas Symbols
Phonics Skill Focus: -oi * Each week, we make words using our Spelling Patterns and create a list of possible words for the Weekly Spelling Test on Friday. These lists go home each Monday or Tuesday to be studied all week.
Sight Words: boy, following, came, want
Important Reminders:
This week will be College and Career Week at Young Elementary!
Monday: Complete and turn in the Career Questionnaire sent home last week
Tuesday: Wear your college gear
Wednesday: Dress up as what you want to be when you grow up
Thursday: Career Visit Day (Students will rotate through various speakers)
First Grade goes outside for two of our four 10 minute Brain Breaks each day. Even though the Groundhog has predicted an early Spring, it is still cold outside. Please make sure that your child has a jacket with his/her name inside everyday. We will be going outside each day that the temperature/wind chill is above 40 degrees and it is not raining.
Friday will be a Student Holiday! :) Enjoy!
