Hello Lancer Families -

Today our students started their first club groups. Students are able to engage in a group setting with fun activities each Friday during AT. We look forward to our next club day on Friday October 13th.

A few things to note this week.

• Conference sign ups are now available PLEASE SIGN UP HERE.
• We will have our picture retakes available on Thursday October 5th during AM classes.
• We have rescheduled our Hearing test with the AEA for Tuesday Oct 17th 9am
• This week is Homecoming week at North Scott! Go Lancers!

This is not a North Scott School District publication. It is being distributed through the school district as a community service of the district to inform you of other community activities or services available.

The holiday season is coming soon and we're here to help! October is sign-up month for families who could use a helping hand with holiday gifts for their children. Eligible recipients are children age 1-18 residing and enrolled in the North Scott School District. Paper copies of the form are also available in the main office. This year, all applications are going through local schools.

If interested, just one form per family (linked here) will need to be printed, completed, and returned to Nurse Jane Wilson by 10/31/23. No late applications will be accepted.

Trap Camp October 8, 1-4, at Clinton County Sportsman's Club $40 fee includes practice clays, 2 boxes of ammo, water, and t-shirt. It's the perfect opportunity to come out, see what trap shooting is all about, try it out, and have some fun! Use the QR code to register and share if you know anyone that might be interested. The 2023-24 theme is:

"How Are You Inspired by America?"

Each year, nearly 68,800 students in sixth through eighth grades enter the VFW’s Patriot’s Pen youth essay contest for a chance to win their share of nearly $1 million in state and national awards. Each first place state winner receives a minimum of $500 at the national level, and the national first place winner wins $5,000!

The essay contest encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting a 300- to 400-word essay, expressing their views based on a patriotic theme chosen by the VFW Commander-in-Chief. Before submitting your essay, read the rules and eligibility requirements, and find your sponsoring local VFW Post as applications must be turned in by midnight, Oct. 31.
