The Chico High Ski and Snowboard team competed well at the Central 2 League Race 4 Slalom at Alpine. ♥️🐾🎿🏂It was a crisp morning and the race conditions were good.
It was Snowboard (SB) first then Ski. In Women’s SB Slalom Chico placed two racers in the top ten and four in the top 20. Senior Annabelle McCreary led all Chico women SB with sophomore Sierra Hammer continuing her good form.
In men’s SB senior Hank Corcoran continued to race very well and led all Chico men with a 4th place finish.
In women’s ski slalom, Chico High continues a run of excellent form on the course with four top 10 finishes and 9 in the top 20. Freshman Lola Saez led all Chico racers in 3rd with junior Beatrice Dantona (6th) freshman Alice Kidd (9th) and senior Macie Martini (10th).
Finally, men’s ski slalom, placed two racers in the top 10 and six in the top 20. Junior Dylan Kyle led all Chico men skiers with a 6th place finish and senior Rowan Shumway finished 8th in a very competitive field. Complete results are in the pictures.
Engagement and team spirit were outstanding and our racers represented Chico High very well.

Brian has played the clarinet for 7 years and has played the alto saxophone for 1.5 years in our jazz ensemble. 🎷

Outside of band, Brian is the Chess and Tabletop Games club President and has been for two years. He has also been a referee for the Chico Youth Soccer League for three years, been the Science Bowl Team Captain for two years, and raced in Cross Country for four years! Additionally, Brian writes a monthly column for the Chico ER! Wow! 🎶

In his free time, Brian enjoys reading the news and is currently enjoying a fascinating biography about Lyndon Johnson! 🗞️

After high school Brian is considering attending a UC next fall and, although his major is currently undecided, is interested in pursuing a major in environmental science! 🧪
