Our Book Recommendations
Ms. Courchesne's Book Pick: Letters from Max by Sarah Ruhl & Max Ritvo
Ms. Maher's Book Pick: Dune, the Graphic Novel
After several attempts to read Frank Herbert's Dune, I finally gave up and watched the blockbuster movies that came out in 2021 and 2024. I fell in love with these worlds and characters and once again picked up a copy of Dune by Herbert, published in 1965. Nope. Didn't work. Couldn't get into it. Then, to my surprise and delight I discovered that this series has been turned into a graphic novel! I devoured Book 1 by Brian Herbert, Frank Herbert's oldest son. The language, the illustrations and the complexity of these worlds came alive on the pages. I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves the movies and wants to take a deep dive back into this sci-fi series.
Mrs. May's Book Pick: The Given Day by Dennis Lehane
Gold House VP Mr. Lagan's Book Pick: Robert E. Lee and Me - A Southerner's Reckoning with the Myth of the Lost Cause by Ty Seidule
