Welcome Letter from Principal Baldwin
Dear Mav Nation,
I am honored to serve as your principal for the 2024-25 school year. Manvel High School holds a special place in my heart as I began my career here in 2009 as a math teacher and served in a variety of roles including math department chair and math instructional coach. I received my first assistant principal job in January of 2017 in Willis ISD at Brabham Middle School. I returned to Alvin ISD in July of 2018 to serve as an assistant principal at Manvel High School. I also served as an assistant principal at Fairview Junior High, associate principal at Alvin High School and most recently have been serving the students and staff of Rodeo Palms Junior High as the principal.
I am a native of Friendswood, Texas and a graduate of Friendswood High School. I earned my Bachelors in Mathematics Education from Texas Lutheran University and my Masters in Educational Leadership from Lamar University. This will be my 16th year in education and 13.5 of those years have been in Alvin ISD.
Nelson Mandela once said "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". One of my top priorities is to build a campus culture and community where students and staff feel safe, valued and supported in their personal and professional growth. I look forward to serving our community in my new role and I'm excited about the great things we will accomplish at MHS for the 2024-25 school year.

Alvin ISD Announces New Stopfinder Transportation App
Beginning with the 2024-2025 school year, Alvin ISD will be using the Stopfinder app for students who utilize Alvin ISD transportation to and from school. The app allows parents and guardians to track their child’s school bus in real-time.
The app is secured and protected and also serves as a two-way communication tool, allowing parents to quickly and easily communicate with district transportation officials and receive real-time notifications. Notifications can be focused on specific users based on their child’s bus route. For example, if a road is closed, causing a bus to be late picking up or dropping off children, only parents and guardians of students on those specific routes will be notified.
The Alvin ISD Transportation Department will send invites 2 weeks prior to the start of school to family members of students who ride the bus to and from school.
The app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play Store.
For more information on how Stopfinder works, take a look at this brief 30-second informational video. More information on Stopfinder is also available on their website.
If you are an eligible bus rider that is either new or has had a change of address, please reach out to your child's campus and ask the registrar to input a request for transportation for your student. These items should be completed no later than August 1st. Once the “verification” has been completed, the registrar will assist with ensuring your child is registered for bus transportation. If your child will be a bus rider, you will receive the route information and approximate pick up times through your skyward account and Stopfinder. Please be looking for an e-mail from Stopfinder in order to monitor your child's bus service information in late July or early August. Also, please monitor your student’s skyward account for transportation information as well. If you have any questions, please call 281-245-3101.

Book Your Senior Photo Shoot
MHS has moved to a new picture company, CADY. Our goal is to ensure seniors have beautiful pictures to capture their final year of high school. We want to ensure all seniors are featured in the yearbook and showcased on the jumbo screen at graduation.
CADY allows seniors to take pictures on campus (Senior Roadshow) or take custom pictures in their studios located at:
Houston
11340 Richmond Ave.
Houston, TX 77082
The Woodlands

- To ensure seniors honor their commitment and show up for their appointment
- To assist with senior actives (prom, senior trip) as $7 of the $10 is returned to the MHS senior class

SHOUT OUTS
Students and Staff are off to a great start for the 2024-25 School Year
MHS staff returned Thursday, August 1st to prepare for students. We had a great 7 days of professional learning and team building. Hoka Hey shoutout to the MHS Admin team, counselors and department leaders who lead professional learning the last 7 days.
Our fall sports including football, volleyball and cross country kicked off their seasons Monday, August 5th along with our Mighty Maverick Band and the heart of Manvel, the Majestics and Royals. These 5 groups enjoyed a special treat Thursday and Friday. The Principals treated each of these student groups to popsicles after practice. We wish them luck as they begin their seasons and we admire their commitment to excellence as they practice during their last days of summer break.
Lastly, we want to give a Hoka Hey Shoutout to our community partners who donated time and goods to the MHS staff during back to school professional learning. Thank you to the Kolache Shoppe in Pearland for donating over 200 kolaches, Bean 76 Coffee for setting up a mobile coffee bar for staff and Club MVMNT for providing self care and wellness to MHS staff.
We are excited for the great things that will be happening at Manvel High School for the 2024-25 school year.
