Parents,

If you have children at multiple schools, if possible, I recommend you start your morning carline here at FAME as we have little traffic from 7:15 to 7:30. The district has designed our start and finish times to stagger so that students at AIS, AMS or AHS are not tardy as early as they are at our school.

PLEASE NOTE,! Athens City will be installing no left turn signs during carline hours sometime this week.

Enter carline by turning right from Sanderfer Road onto Minute Man Drive. Take the first right around the corner as you enter Brookhill Drive. If you arrive early, please wait at the top of the U (not blocking teacher parking or bus entry until 7:15).

We can not have parents parking on Brookhill Drive and walking across the street. This is a safety issue and slows the line for everyone.

WATCH D.O.G.S.

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads Of Great Students) is an innovative father involvement and educational initiative of the National Center for Fathering. There are two primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program:

1) To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.

2) To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security.

Who Are WatchDOGS?

WatchDOGS are fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and other father-figures who volunteer for one day each year at an official WATCH D.O.G.S. school. During the day, WatchDOGS may read and work on flash cards with students, play at recess, eat lunch with students, watch the school entrances and hallways, assist with traffic flow and any other assigned activities where they actively engage with not only their own students, but other students as well.

Program Benefits

• Fathers get a glimpse of their students’ everyday world and learn about the increasingly complex challenges and decisions today’s youth are facing.
• Fathers gain a greater awareness of the positive impact they can have on their student’s life.
• Students gain positive male role models.
• Schools gain an extra set of eyes and ears.

Physical Education Reminders:

• wear tennis shoes
• wear appropriate clothing (shorts under dresses)
• no water bottles allowed in PE (unless medically required)
• a parent note to sit out of exercise is good for 3 days

First Priority is an opportunity, made available by local youth clergy, in which our students have the opportunity to celebrate and grow in understanding of the gospel. We will meet monthly on the first Wednesday of the month at 7:15 in the gym. Attendance is elective.
