Principal’s Message for June

As we bring the 2024-2025 school year to a close, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible year it has been at Whispering Ridge Community School. From academic achievements, athletic opportunities, choir & band performances, and new options classes, to multiple memorable celebrations and events, our school community has come together in so many meaningful ways.

One of the greatest strengths of our school is the strong, collaborative partnership we share with our parents and community. Your support, whether through volunteering at events, assisting with learning at home, sharing valuable insights, or simply staying involved in your child’s educational journey has a profound impact on our students and school as a whole. These relationships are the foundation of our school community, and we are so grateful for your involvement and trust.

In this final month, we will certainly be finding opportunities to take our learning outside of the school walls, and into the beautiful outdoors, while still working hard to continue to focus on important curricular goals. These long, warm days are so precious and we aim to make the most of them, and we encourage families to do the same!

SCHOOL FEES

In order to ensure we can continue to offer enriching learning experiences and optimal programming for our students, we are instating a small school fee for students in grades 1-8. The school administration team worked with our School Council group to weigh the pros and cons, and to ensure that this decision was supported moving forward. School fees are $30 per student, and these are payable cash, check, or online (link will be shared on our website).

Options Grades 4-8

Some optional classes have a $50 fee (per term) which will allow us to plan more enriched opportunities for our students. If a family is worried about cost or is unable to afford the cost of an option their child would like to partake in, we encourage families to reach out so that we can make alternate arrangements. We are fortunate to live in a generous community and often there are people looking for ways to give back or pay it forward.
