Your connection to all things in GCPS...
Your connection to all things GCPS. | March 21, 2024
GCPS students and 180-, 181-, 185-, 190-, 193, 200-, 210-, 220-, and 230-day staff are on Spring Break from Monday, April 1 through Friday, April 5. (April 5 is a holiday for all GCPS staff.)
Each month of the 2023-24 school year, we will spotlight one of our strategic priorities or Portrait of a Graduate competencies by sharing the stories of two clusters—highlighting their classrooms, notable events, community insights, achievements, community service projects, student organizations, volunteer efforts, and more.
Resourcefulness
GCPS students and staff innovate by translating original thinking into viable solutions. They use their imagination to transcend traditional rules and patterns to create new ideas and approaches to problem-solving, and embrace learning from diverse sources and experiences to use resources creatively and efficiently.
In March, we'll focus on Resourcefulness in the Mountain View and Seckinger clusters.
March is Art in Our Schools Month
In March, Gwinnett County Public Schools recognizes Music in Our Schools Month and Youth Art Month, and the district is committed to supporting our students’ enrichment through fine arts. Learn more about our students’ recent experiences with the arts:
- Moore Middle School’s Art Club visited the High Museum of Art in Atlanta earlier this semester to engage in a private tour of the Sonya Clark traveling exhibit: We Are Each Other.
- Students at the School of The Arts (SOTA) at Central Gwinnett High School (CGHS) put together a “Roadshow” that included live performances at Simonton Elementary.
- Students from GCPS schools (nine elementary and four middle schools) across the district visited the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) this spring to celebrate female composers and historical figures noted for their significant contributions to music and society.
