DCSC Construction Update

We recently had the pleasure of taking a guided tour of the construction site at South Elementary. Once inside, it was easy to envision what the final product would look like. It may just be walls, windows and beams now, but soon there will be classroom decorations and smiling students filling each space.

Work is ongoing to frame the new front office, and we are now seeing much more than temporary walls! This includes work to complete necessary plumbing and electrical work, insulation, overhead work, drywall and blocking. If you look at the photos below, you can see some of the ongoing work and get a better idea of size/space for this new part of the building.

In the back of the building, work is ongoing for our classroom addition! This includes 14 new classrooms, additional restrooms, a teacher workroom, and more. See the photos below for the progress.

To keep our campus as safe as possible, we need lights in our parking lots! The light installation is well underway in the west parking lot.

Change is on its way to DCHS! Below are a series of photos that showcase our plans for this building. We plan to break ground at the school this spring, with a lot of work happening over the summer when students are not in school.

Beginning in the Spring of 2024, traffic patterns will be changing on the DCHS campus until further notice. This video goes into detail about what you can expect. We understand this will take some time to get used to, but we appreciate your cooperation in this change.
