Viking Family,

The Vistas staff has been working hard to prepare to welcome our new and returning Vikings on Wednesday, August 14th! We have missed our Vikings and are looking forward to welcoming them back for the 2024-2025 school year!

This edition of Viking News, we have reminders for all things back to school. Please read it thoroughly and get any of the to-do's done so we have a smooth start to the year. Annual Student Information Update is a must! Answers to your questions about Chromebooks and fees! And much more!

1. Once you log in to Skyward, select the Annual Student Information Update button.

* Included will be additional information regarding state testing, tutorials, and other pertinent information.

Every year, Klein ISD requires that families update student information for each enrolled child. Although many of our families have information that has not changed, for each student’s safety, it is required that information such as emergency contact information and more be reviewed and verified for each child.

Ignore all of the emails from your child's home campus about device pick up! Vistas students will recieve their Chromebooks on the 1st day of school. In addition, Vistas students' ADP fees (computer insurance) are waived. The district should have already removed the fee from your child's School Cash or will do so shortly.

To determine if a student qualifies for free or reduced priced meals, families are encouraged to apply electronically at https://kisd.us/frmealapp.

• Applications need to be filled out each school year
• Families will need to sign into their existing SchoolCafé account or create a new account.
• Families will be notified with eligibility results within 10 business days.

• August 26, 2024 - LSC-UP Fall classes begin
• August 29, 2024 - Open House

• Be on time! School starts at 7:25am. Dismissal is 3pm.
• Students must wear their ID badge, on a lanyard, around their neck visible at all times.
• Cell phone policy strictly enforced.
• Dress code...no crop tops, spaghetti straps or sagging pants.
• Vistas is a closed campus.
• Only parent/guardian on Skyward can bring food for their student.
• Students may NOT leave campus for lunch.
• No food delivery such as Uber Eats, etc.

For ECHS students taking fall classes on campus, you must attend this informational meeting hosted by LSC staff. Ms. Murphy sent out an email on 8/8/2024 with all of the details.

Vistas provides a small and nurturing learning environment. A challenging rigorous curriculum is necessary to prepare students for post secondary education and the world of work. An environment of respect among the staff and students is created so that students at Vistas have a sense of self-worth. Students at Vistas must accept responsibility for doing whatever it takes to earn their high school diploma and prepare for their career.
