Family Update Week of Sept. 16, 24
Message from the Principals
We’d like to take a moment to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended our Open House last week. It was wonderful to see so many of you connecting with our staff and learning more about what makes our school community so special. Your presence and support truly make a difference, and we are so grateful for your continued involvement.
Next week is an exciting time on campus as we gear up for Homecoming Week! We have an incredible lineup of activities planned, and we would love for you to join us in the festivities:
Spirit Week (Monday-Friday): Encourage your students to show their school spirit by participating in daily themed dress-up days!
Homecoming Parade (Friday, Sept. 20, 5:30 PM): The parade will start near the main office and wind through the campus showcasing floats, clubs, and sports teams. Be sure to find a spot along the route and cheer on our students! There will be food trucks on campus following the parade, so grab some food and catch up between the parade and the start of the game.
Homecoming Game (Friday, Sept. 20, 7:00 PM): Join us at the stadium as our Eagles take on Lincoln. Let's fill the stands and show our support! The student section theme for that night is a Black Out.
Homecoming Dance (Saturday, 21, 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM): The dance will be held in the commons, and tickets will be sold next week. Please ensure that your child has a ride home and is promptly picked up by 11:00 PM.
We look forward to celebrating as a community and continuing to build the pride and spirit that make our school such a special place. Thank you again for your unwavering support. We can't wait to see you next week at the Homecoming events!
Wishing you a great weekend and Go Eagles!
Your Skyline Administration Team

Skyline students are reading!! In the first two weeks of school, they checked out 944 books between our library and Sora's ebook/audiobook collection. Another positive result of the cell phone policy is that students are reading during their downtime. Hooray!! Skyline staff are also welcome to check out books from our library!

Sky Parent/Guardian Chaperone Help for HC Dance:
Thank you so much for wanting to help chaperone our Homecoming Dance on Saturday, September 21st. Specific times and job duties are in the Sign-Up Genius link below. To chaperone, please complete the following steps:
Complete and sign the Criminal Background Check form that can be found HERE. The form must contain an actual signature - do not type your signature, or use a cursive font. A criminal background check is required for anyone wishing to chaperone a field trip, volunteer at the school, or otherwise assist with a Skyline event. Background checks are good for the school year (July 1st - June 30th), so once you’ve completed one, you do not need to complete another; you are clear to chaperone or volunteer the remainder of the school year.
Email completed form + copy of Driver License to Mr. Bilsborrow at bilsborrow@aaps.k12.mi.us
Select a volunteer slot using Sign-Up Genius here:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050A44ADAD28A0F85-50584877-skyhomecoming
When you check in at the dance you will be given a pre-printed name tag that you will need to have on during the entire duration you are in the school building.

Critical Bluebook Update Released
A critical update to the Bluebook™ testing app was released at the end of August. To avoid overwhelming our network and causing delays on test day, students must open Bluebook now and ensure the update takes place. You do not need to sign in for the update to take place.
Also, remember to check for new releases every Friday on Bluebook Updates (https://bluebook. collegeboard.org/technology/updates).
Students must always use the latest version of Bluebook while testing. Failure to do so will cause testing irregularities that may void the student(s) test score.
Action Needed:
Report any battery life issues or other performance issues with your Chromebook to ITD as soon as possible so it can be resolved prior to testing. Please call 734-997-1222 or email family_techsupport@aaps.k12.mi.us.
To access Bluebook practice tests: (https://satsuite. collegeboard.org/sat/practice-preparation/practicetests), students must launch Bluebook, sign in with their College Board account, and click Full-Length Practice.

Traffic Flow
We ask that you share this info with other family members or friends who may be picking up or dropping off students. These traffic patterns are in place 24 hours a day, so the same traffic patterns apply for afterschool activties as well.
Please remember we have hundreds of student drivers on campus who are still learning the rules of the road. Please be patient with them, drive slow and pay attention while on campus.
THE SPEED LIMIT WHILE ON CAMPUS IS 10 MPH. Please drive slowly for the safety of all!
Students arriving at school should be dropped off at the student entrance using the parent drop off loop only. (At all times during the school day, students will no longer enter through the main office after 8:15 am). Students will be required to present their student ID (physical or digital) upon entry to the building. Students who have already been called out and approved for early dismissal should be picked up at the parent pick up loop at any time during the school day. The only time a student will be picked up at the main office is if a parent/guardian is coming in to pick up a student and this early release has not previously been called into the attendance line or front desk.
There is no student drop off permitted anyplace other than the drop off loop at the student entrance. Please do not drop students off in the main office, staff or student parking lots. This creates safety hazards that should be avoided by following the posted traffic route and signs on campus.
Shout out to Mr. O, Payton and Valencia for helping us make this short video to help you understand the new traffic flow on campus- check it out! New video with clarification Video linked here
