CLASSROOM PARTY PARENT VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP THIS THURSDAY
Each year at Highlands, each classroom has three parties where we ask for parent volunteers. There will be a Fall Party on October 31, 2024, a Winter Party on December 20, 2024 and a Friendship/Valentine’s Day Party on February 14, 2025. For grades one through four, three parents will be allowed to attend and plan each party. For the kindergarten and fifth grade classrooms, four volunteers will be allowed per classroom party. The fifth grade parties will be combined parties for all fifth grade classrooms in the gym.
PLEASE NOTE: Each family (not each parent) may sign up for one party per classroom/child. If you have multiple children at Highlands, each family may sign up for one party per classroom/child. In order to allow for as many Highlands families to sign up as possible, we will remove any extra sign-ups beyond this one allowed shift.
The SignUpGenius link for these parties will go live Thursday, September 12 at 8pm. Head Room Parents were allowed to sign up early. You will not receive a new email that evening, so please save this link. The sign-up link can be found here.
More information about this party planning role can be found in the Room Parent Guide. All parent volunteers will be hearing from their Head Room Parent shortly after the sign-up closes to begin planning for the Fall party.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Shannon Irwin (shannonirwin@gmail.com) or Hillary Mohindra (hillary.mohindra@gmail.com).
REMINDER: LC VOLUNTEER SIGN-UP IS LIVE!
There are still a couple of available shifts to help in the LC this year. The sign-up link can be found here:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050F4EAFAC2BA1F49-51040554-highlands
PLEASE NOTE: EACH FAMILY (NOT EACH PARENT) MAY ONLY SIGN UP FOR ONE TIME SLOT AT THIS TIME. This is to ensure that as many Highlands families may volunteer as possible. If there are still open time slots after the first volunteer window closes, we will re-open the sign-up and allow parents to volunteer for additional time slots.
The LC Volunteer Orientation will be held on Thursday, September 12 from 8:30-9:00AM in the LC. Please plan on attending this so that you will know the expectations of volunteering in the LC.
Interested in helping in the LC but can’t commit to two weeks a month? Sign up to be a substitute volunteer! This is a great option for parents who can’t commit to a regular LC volunteer position or were not able to sign-up for the time slot they preferred. Due to the nature of the substitute position, you are usually asked a few days before, or the day of a shift if you can be a sub. LC subs are extremely important, so we appreciate your commitment!
The link for the substitute list can be found here:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050F4EAFAC2BA1F49-51041351-lcvolunteer
PLEASE NOTE: Permanent LC volunteers are NOT automatically placed on the LC Sub list. You must also sign up for this role separately. Thank you!
Questions? Please email Shannon Irwin, LC Volunteer Coordinator, at shannonirwin@gmail.com.

Common Login Issues
Issue: I had access to DirectorySpot last year and did not update my email address in Infinite campus. Why can’t I log in?
Resolution: The “private” option for email address was likely selected in Infinite Campus. If this occurred, your email address was not provided to set up your user access to the directory for this year.
Email highlandsdirectoryspot@gmail.com to request assistance.
Issue: During the District 203 online student registration process, I selected “No” to deny permission for my child’s information to be included in the school directory. Why can’t I log in to the directory?
Resolution: If you choose this option, no student/family information, including your email address, was provided to set up your user access to the directory for this year. Please email highlandsdirectoryspot@gmail.com to request an account to view information.
