Highlights of the Week
The holiday season is in full swing at our school, and it’s wonderful to see the excitement and energy across all grades as we prepare for Christmas! The entire school is busy rehearsing for the much-anticipated Christmas musical, "Star Bucks". The students have been working hard, and their enthusiasm is truly infectious. A huge thank-you to Mrs. Andersson, Mrs. Pelech and Mrs. Murat for their time and dedication in organizing this special event. We can’t wait to share the performance with all on Tuesday!
Our outdoor skating rink has been a hub of activity this week! A heartfelt thank-you to our local fire department for clearing the snow and giving the rink a fresh flood. I believe it is important for Canadian kids to learn to skate, and it is wonderful to see our more experienced skaters help our beginners. By the end of the year everyone will be zipping around.
This week, our K–6 students participated in important Farm Safety Presentations. These sessions taught valuable lessons on staying safe in various farming environments which is essential in our rural contex.
In the spirit of the season, 5C students are adding a bit of flair with their themed Friday Christmas outfits or holiday hair! It is fun to see staff and students get into the festive season by participating in these days.
A special thank-you to our amazing Parent Council for gifting Eagle shirts to all staff and students. These shirts generate unity and school pride, and it’s been wonderful to see everyone wearing them this week. Thank you for your generosity and for fostering such a strong sense of community in our school!

Shout out to our 5-9 Students
I want to send a shout out to our grade 5-9 students. Without being asked many of them were found helping younger students tie their skates and give help those how are just learning. I have been very impressed with our older students this year, and appreciate the positve leadership that they provide our school. You are all rockstars!
Recess Fun
Student of the Week
Harper Sehlstrom
Harper has worked really hard and always keeps a positive attitude as she improves her reading. When she comes across challenging words or tricky texts, she doesn't give up. Instead, she asks for help so she can understand and learn new words. Harper stays focused on the text, often reading aloud or following along with her finger, which helps her get better and better. Her hard work and determination are things we celebrate at Donalda School, and I'm so pround of all the progress she's made. Great job, Harper - you're a great example of how hard work pays off!
McCoy Wainwright
McCoy is always helpful when cleaning up and organizing. An excellent example of this was during Fine Arts last week. He had finished his project, and then, without being asked, neatly stacked every chair that wasn't being used, tided up the floor, put away supplies that students were finished with, and organized supplies in the bins that were put away incorrectly. Thank-you so much for all of your help, McCoy!
Connor Sehlstrom
Connor has been working so hard in all of his classes and is achieving success as a result! I'm also really impressed with his leadership qualities, especially as he has tackled working on the set for the Christmas concert. Connor has taken the lead on the many jobs that needed to be accomplished and they have turned out great. We truly could not have finished everything without his help!
Reed Murat
Reed is a kind and thoughtful student who always strives to improve. He consistently takes initiative to help others, whether it's cleaning up messes without being asked or offering support to a peer. Miss G was especially touched by Reed's quiet generosity when he helped a classmate clean-up spilled pencil shavings, a simple act that brought a smile to her face. In addition to his kindness, Reed works hard to sharpen his skills, often going above and beyond at home to practice and grow. His selflessness, dedication and care make him a valued member of our classroom and a great friend to all!
