Our College and Career Coordinator, Mrs. Vasquez, has planned a special event for some of our students who are exploring their future career interest. We are excited to welcome a VIP guest speaker to our campus. His level of clearance requires a specialized security detail who will escort him. Please don’t be alarmed if you see additional security personnel and vehicles on campus. This is a planned event and a great opportunity for some of our lucky students!

TPD informed RUHS administration that they have been issuing warnings to drivers during student pick-up and drop-off. They noted that the traffic violations continue to be a concern, so they are going to begin issuing tickets to drivers who disregard signs and do not follow traffic laws. Please be extra careful and follow all traffic signs and laws to avoid being ticketed.

The MEC's Pima College Access Network will award two FSA qualified Seniors with $50 each on Dec 18!

-RUHS Student Councils want YOUR input on our Winter Spirit Week! Visit either of our Instagram accounts @rinconstuco or @universityhspenguins to vote on your top choices for Spirit Week. The QR code to the form will also be on the Student Council boards in the U-building.

-RUHS is hosting a powderpuff football game with players from Cheer and cheerleaders from football next Wednesday, December 11th at 5:30 p.m.! Keep an eye on your student council socials for more information and get ready to support your football and cheer programs! Tickets are $4 for students and $5 for everyone else.

-The RUHS Library Cafe is now OPEN! Stop by during conference on Mondays and Tuesdays to enjoy a warm drink or sweet snack. Live performances will also be held, so start your morning on the right foot at the cafe!

-RUHS Students, Rincon Student Council is hosting a movie night in the library next Friday, December 13th at 5:00 p.m. where we’ll be watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Take a well-deserved break and enjoy a movie with your friends as we round out this semester! Tickers are $5 for this RUHS “student only” event. Please make sure you have your current RUHS ID with you to attend.

-To celebrate the end of the semester, Student Council is hosting a Winter Festival on Thursday, December 19 from 12-2pm in the Senior Patio (the center of the U-Building)! We will have arts and crafts activities, club booths, food trucks, and an escape room. Come by to have some fun with your friends before Winter Break starts.

-Our fourth outstanding student Rincon Ranger Raffle winner is Luis Villasenor Rodriguez, nominated by Ms. Rivera Cohen. Luis wins a pair of wireless headphones. Congratulations, Luis!

-Our November Fun Friday for No Fs was a success! We gave out over 200 ice pops. Congrats to those students passing all of their classes! Finish the semester strong as our final Fun Friday of the year will be a Hot Cocoa Bar on December 13th during Rincon lunch.

-Travel Club is headed to Europe and the registration link is live! The trip is open to all RUHS students. Check the posters around campus for info on how to join or talk to Ollanik in LL6.

-Please remember, backpacks are not allowed at sporting events, and you may not leave them on campus. Please plan ahead and leave bags at home or in your car. Only small, clear bags may be permitted.

-Both Boys Wrestling and Girls Wrestling Teams are still accepting athletes that are interested in learning the sport and joining the team. There are no tryouts or experience necessary so you can just stop by the Athletic Office and let them know that you want to join the Wrestling Team.
