Hello BCE Community


We only have 4 more days of school this year. It has gone by so fast. Thank you to Mr. Vahradian's class for such a wonderful performance of Beauty and Beast. Plays at the end of the year bring so much joy. The class did a wonderful job and thank you to all that helped make it happen.


Next week is a super fun week at BCE. Everyone has some fun events plan to celebrate the end of the year. Tuesday we have a school wide Field Day. It is one of my favorite days of the year. It is one of the only times we get to all be together and play and have fun. Make sure your student wears clothes that can get WET :)


Please make sure you read all the updates regarding 5th grade advancement. It will be different this year, and want to make sure everyone is aware of the plans.


Summer learning books will or have gone home again this summer. We have a few options for summer learning. We will have a big prize again if students are to complete the "learning Map". Even 15 minutes a day will make such a difference. See below with links and more information.


Please see below about registration for next year. There are 248 BCE families who still have not completed the annual online registration that was emailed out on May 20th. Please check your email, including your spam folder, for a message from noreplyenrollment@powerschool.com. Please complete the online registration in order for your child to be placed on a class roster next school year


Wednesday is a normal Schedule- out at 1:15.

5th Grade Advancement Details

We are so excited to celebrate our 5th graders moving on to the middle school on Wednesday June 5th. at 9am. We will be outside this year on the upper grass. Here are a few details for the event.


  • Please plan ahead for parking. No parent parking will be allowed on campus. The campus will be closed for all on site parking. We will have a very limited number of Handicapped parking spots available. Once we have all filled, people will have to walk.
  • We will NOT be providing chairs for the event. Please bring a low level chair or a blanket to sit on. Chairs will only be provided to staff on the day.
  • Please plan on arriving a bit early, as the event will start promptly at 9:00 am.
  • Students need to arrive on time and go straight to their classroom.
  • Remember we are a no balloon school district. So if you could refrain from bring balloons that would be wonderful.
  • Please refrain from bringing any noise makers.

  • Please remind your young students not to join in during the ceremony.

  • Fifth graders must check out with their teachers and the office if they leave early from school after the ceremony.


Note- if your 5th grader will not be attending SLVMS please contact Leanne Piccolo at 338-6413, so we know where to send your students file.

The PowerSchool registration is now open for 2024-2025 school year, please follow these instructions below to complete the online forms. We need your up-to-date contact preferences, student health data, parent/student permissions, as well as other important information verified or completed within one week of receipt or prior to the first day of school whichever is first. Having all the necessary information will help us with student placement and scheduling. Your timely input and cooperation are greatly appreciated.

Summer Brain Quest Book

Complete the Brain Quest map by the end of the summer. For every lesson, place a sticker on the map. Complete the map by the end of the summer to participate in a fun event at the start of the 25-26 school year.

PBIS Amazon Wish List- Bear Paw Store

Our students work hard every day and are rewarded with Bear Paws. We have Bear Paw Store about every 4-6 weeks. If you are able, please consider helping to provide items from our Amazon wish list.

Volunteers

We are excited to have volunteers back on campus. All volunteers need to be cleared with the appropriate paperwork from the office. The office is happy to help if you have questions about your volunteer status.

If you can volunteer this year, we would love to have you. Please speak with your teacher and office staff. All volunteer schedules need to be approved by classroom teachers before volunteers begin in classrooms.

PBIS- Bears

Positive Behavior Support will be a focus for BCE this year. We will be looking at promoting positive behavior in all ways. We will focus on the BCE Bear Way for the first month. How do we show Be Safe, Respectful, and Responsible all over the campus. Please ask your student how they are showing these behaviors. We will also be giving Bear Paws for good behavior. These will be used like cash at the student store in the coming weeks. More information is to come regarding the store, but it will be very exciting.

Drop off and Pick Up

We are so excited to see everyone, and the first couple of weeks can be very busy in the parking lot. Please be patient with everyone while we learn and remember the parking lot rules. If you are dropping off or picking up, please remember not to leave your car if you are not parked in an assigned spot. There is no parent parking on campus, all parents need to park on the street and walk in. If you drop off at YMCA before 8, you may park in the bus zone for your quick drop-off. We do not have supervision for students before 8:10. Please do not leave your students before 8:10 unattended. Staff will be out and about to help and ensure everyone is safe.
