Bachelor of Science with a Major in Public Health
The Bachelor of Science with a major in Public Health offers two concentrations: Health Professions and Health Education and Promotion. The curriculum focuses on health disparities, environmental health, stress management, personal health, nutrition, statistics and other related topics specific to the concentrations. Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the Certified Health Education Specialist or Certified Public Health professional certification exams.

Emerging Threats: The Sugaring Crisis in Alabama
"Sugaring" or "Sugar Dating" has become a crisis in Alabama targeting our kids in colleges, high schools and even middle schools. This video by Barbara Fowler and Fowler Davis 4 Change addresses what sugaring is; how it has become so popular on college campuses; and how it can easily evolve into sex trafficking.
Understanding the power dynamics around sugaring and the reasons why sugaring is continuing to grow can help reduce exploitation and sex trafficking.

Our FEATURED Partner Agency of the Quarter is Family Success Center of Etowah County. The Mission of the Family Success Center is to strengthen the families of Etowah County until they are financially stable, emotionally healthy, and nonviolent. One key way they are fulfilling this mission is organizing and championing community awareness and training events regarding how to prevent and combat child trafficking in Etowah County.
