Colleton County School Dsitrict employees have been hard at work this summer preparing our buildings and grounds for the new 2024-2025 school year. With only a brief few days rest around July 4th week, our employees have been ensuring our campuses, buildings, and landscapes are beautiful and welcoming when our faculty, staff, & students return.

Throughout the months of June & July, The Colleton County District & school leadership teams attended a variety of professional developments to continue to improve leadership and support for our teachers, staff, & students. We also had several of our district leaders to present at numerous conferences. From SCASA's i3 Conference to Model Schools, to a SRO conference, to the NSPRA 2024 Conference, Colleton County School District is determined be the best school district!

The 2024 Leadership Retreat was held July 16-18, 2024, at the Dogwood Hills Country Club. This was an opportunity for our school leadership teams to receive valuable information for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. Kimberly Mack, from The SC Dept. of Education’s Office of School Transformation, presented during a morning session. Day 2 of the 2024 Leadership Retreat started with a warm “Welcome” from Superintendent Jessica Williams. Then Stu Greenberg from Curriculum Associates presented to principals on principal effectiveness and the correlation to improved data. Several district departments presented valuable "Back to School" information.

Human Resources held New Employee Orientation Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Colleton County High School's auxiliary gym. They were assisted by the Curriculum & Instruction Department for New Teacher Orientation that began on the afternoon of July 23,2024, and concluded the afternoon of July 25, 2024. New CCSD employees received valuable information during this program to include benefits, expectations, technology support and ID/access cards.

On Thursday, July 18, 2024, CCSD’s Office of Human Resources held a celebration to honor all our wonderful staff that had been named Rookie Teacher of the Year, Teacher of the Year, and Support Employee of the Year. The room was beautifully decorated and the food was delicious.

Congratulations to Tamarah Johnson from Cottageville Elementary School on being named Colleton County School District's 2024-2025 Support Employee of the Year!
