Transportation Reminder
FCS will be providing transportation for our magnet students! The PCI Magnet Bus will depart from and return to each magnet student’s zoned school.
To make this process smooth and easy, parents will need to drop off their students at their zoned school on time to catch the PCI Magnet Bus and pick them up from their zoned school after the bus drops them off.
Below, you’ll find the departure and drop-off times for the PCI Magnet Bus. We’re excited to support our magnet students and ensure they have a great experience!

Program of Study Spotlight: Diesel
A Diesel Truck Maintenance Technician specializes in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing diesel-powered vehicles, including trucks, buses, and heavy machinery. Their career typically involves the following key responsibilities:
Diagnosing Issues: Using diagnostic tools and software, technicians identify problems within the vehicle's engine, transmission, electrical system, brakes, and other critical components.
Routine Maintenance: They perform regular maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections, and fluid checks to ensure vehicles run smoothly and efficiently.
Repair Work: Technicians repair or replace faulty parts, such as engines, transmissions, fuel systems, and exhaust systems. They may also work on the vehicle’s electrical systems and complex hydraulic components.
Record Keeping: Maintaining detailed records of all services performed is essential for warranty compliance and future diagnostics.
Staying Updated: As diesel technology evolves, technicians need to stay updated on the latest advancements, tools, and repair techniques. This might involve ongoing training or certifications.
Work Environment: Diesel Truck Maintenance Technicians often work in repair shops, service centers, or for trucking companies. The job can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift heavy parts, operate machinery, and work in various positions.
Skills Required: Mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with diagnostic equipment are crucial. A strong understanding of diesel engines and systems is essential.
Career Path: Technicians often start with a formal training program, such as a vocational school or apprenticeship, and may advance to senior technician roles, supervisory positions, or even open their own repair shops.
Job Outlook: The demand for Diesel Truck Maintenance Technicians is expected to remain steady, given the reliance on diesel-powered vehicles in transportation and industry.
