NEW FIELD - RIBBON CUTTING
We have officially inaugurated our state-of-the-art turf field. We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Romero and Mr. Narducci for their participation in the ribbon-cutting ceremony. This long-awaited project has been a collaborative effort, and our staff, coaches, and players are eager to begin utilizing this exceptional new resource. We are thrilled to have this field as a valuable asset for our entire school and the CUSD community. This project would not have been possible without the unwavering support of district administration, site administration, and most importantly, our community. We are deeply thankful to all stakeholders who contributed to this achievement and look forward to reaping the benefits of this new field. GO HUSKIES!

NATIONAL SUICIDE PREVENTION MONTH
September is National Suicide Prevention Month, a time to remember lives lost to suicide, acknowledge those who have experienced thoughts of suicide, and the many individuals, families and communities that have been impacted by suicide. September is also a time to raise awareness about suicide prevention and share messages of hope. Hope is teachable. It is a resource that grows and changes as we move through life. Hope does not have to be passive. We can be intentional about cultivating a mindset of hope for our communities- hope is not just a feeling, it’s an action.
So, how do we provide our communities with hope? There is effectiveness in proactive engagement so please join us for two upcoming events and check The Department of Counseling & Social Services website for more opportunities throughout the month of September.
Events:
The City of Chandler's 2nd annual Suicide Prevention Week Gathering and Vigil will be on Sunday, September 8th. This event is for healing and connection, marking the beginning of World Suicide Prevention Week. There will be a mental health resource expo, live music, henna designs, therapy dogs, various art activities, and food as the community connects with resources and each other. The final hour of the event will be a candlelight vigil to remember those we have lost to suicide.
Tuesday, September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day, and Semicolon Society is partnering with CUSD to bring a free online presentation to parents and guardians. This presentation will provide a short but impactful and detailed overview of suicide prevention for our youth. It includes practical information on how to start conversations about suicide, recognize warning signs of suicide, share concerns about suicide, and access resources. The conversation will be guided by Dr. Paula McCall, a recognized expert in suicide prevention!
If you are concerned about yourself, a family member, or friend know that that help is available, call or text 988. You can also visit The Department of Counseling & Social Service's website for additional resources as they relate to suicide prevention.
