Welcome to a new year! We hope everyone had a restful break and found time to reconnect as a family. We are honored to be working alongside you as we look at this year's second half of school. This week, we have asked our students to reflect on how the first half of their school year has gone and where they would like to see their learning and skills improve. As we continue to support their quest for OWNERSHIP of their learning, we are eager to hear about all the ideas and strategies they have in mind. Take some time this weekend to talk with your children to see what goals they have set and celebrate the accomplishments that have already been made in their growth this year.

Looking for events happening in the community? Please check the West Ada School District Community Bulletin Board for postings.

We are asking for your help and consideration with picking up and dropping off at the side and back entrances of the school. Please be respectful and use the area in front of the walkways as a quick drop off. If you would like to park and walk your child to the campus entry, please think about parking on the opposite side of the street or away from the path so we can keep traffic flowing. I know the parent using this would appreciate it, as would the neighbors living in these areas.

We also ask that you make sure you are leaving driveways clear and not double parking in the street.

Please note that students have 20 minutes designated for eating with additional time during recess for those who need more time. The staff encourages all students to eat and to ensure they have plenty of time. However, students are ultimately responsible for eating. If you are concerned your child is not eating or is extremely hungry because they are in a rush for recess, please talk with your child. We will continue to encourage good eating habits.

We are blessed with a building full of amazing individuals who have given so much to make PVE an exceptional place for education and community. This is your chance to recognize one of PVE’s teachers for the outstanding work they do for our students, parents, staff, and the community. Please think about the one person who reflects effective teaching and innovation, who is a role model to all, who has taken on additional responsibilities, and who demonstrates care for students and staff. We want examples of how this individual goes above and beyond, helping to make Pleasant View Elementary an outstanding building.

It is time for the annual District Art Show artwork projects to begin. The District Art Show is scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 20, 2023. This year, the theme for Elementary will be “Going Places.” If your child would like to work on a submission at home, those will be due to the PVE Front Office by February 3. Only ONE piece will be selected from the building to be submitted to the District Art Competition. The PVE staff will vote on the final piece to submit.

Once again, we are asking for any help we can get. This school is in desperate need of Noon Duties and both a full time and part time para. If you can help consistently anywhere from one day a week to the entire week, please let us know.

Come join this amazing staff!

We are looking for a few parents who are open to volunteering at lunch to help run football, basketball, and soccer games. As much as students love playing these games here at school, playing for fun and refereeing themselves is often difficult. However, when the adults can help interact and support, our students LOVE IT. So... here is your chance to join us and engage in some great kid time.
