Spartan Spotlight
Oct 23, 2020
From the Principal
BRHS Families,
As we wind down the first quarter, please be reminded to check Student Vue and Parent Vue for updated gradebook information. It is important to acknowledge that opening school at a distance and distance learning has presented many challenges for everyone. It is also important to acknowledge the significant and positive work of our students and teachers who are doing their best given the circumstances.
We are continuing to adjust as new information and guidance becomes available. This includes Hybrid stages as outlined by LCPS, as well as phased guidance for various activities. When the second quarter starts on Nov 4, we will shift to and ABAB schedule, with Mondays remaining the same, for asynchronous work. Wednesday November 4 will be an ‘B’ day.
Congratulations to Nicholas Mitchell and Alex Rodriguez for being selected as semi-finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Competition.
Also, congratulations to our seniors who were recognized as ‘commended’. A picture is on the BRHS twitter handle, on the BRHS web site.
Finally, please be sure to check our "school updates" link on the BRHS web site.
Thank you, again, for all of your support as part of our Broad Run community.
David Spage
Principal

Are you a competitive-type person who enjoys challenges? Do you have expertise in a certain area of computer technology or other skill?
FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) is looking for motivated students with a passion for any facet of the business world who would like to take the helm of the new leadership team starting 2nd semester. We are looking for a group of 4-5 students who are interested in becoming leaders of this national co-curricular organization and are willing to hit the ground running. No experience necessary, just dedicated leaders who want to work hard to get the Spartan Chapter of FBLA off the ground. Opportunities exist to hold monthly meetings, competitive events, field trips (eventually) and regional, state, and national conferences.
