The coming weeks are an exciting time as we see our students’ hard work come to fruition with the EOC and AP exams approaching. These assessments are a reflection of their dedication, and we are proud of the effort they have put in throughout the year. We encourage all students to stay focused, review their materials, and take advantage of any additional support available.

While academic success is important, we also recognize the challenges that come with a busy testing season. Please take time to monitor your student’s mental health, ensuring they are balancing their studies with proper rest and stress management. Encouragement and support at home can make a significant impact on their confidence and well-being.

Beyond academics, we also encourage students to stay engaged in school life by attending school functions and activities. These events provide a great opportunity to unwind, build friendships, and create lasting memories. Your support in keeping them involved helps foster a well-rounded and enriching high school experience.

Saturday School

We are excited to offer additional learning opportunities for our students! Our Saturday School sessions are available for HP 1416 students, providing targeted support to ensure their academic success. Additionally, we are offering TSI and SAT prep sessions, giving students a great opportunity to sharpen their skills and prepare for these important exams.

We encourage all students to take advantage of these sessions to strengthen their knowledge and boost their confidence. Your support in encouraging attendance will make a difference in their academic journey.

EOC Dates

STAAR EOC Testing Is Around the Corner!

We are entering a critical testing period for our students. The STAAR End-of-Course (EOC) exams are an important measure of student learning and a key part of graduation requirements.

Please review the STAAR EOC testing schedule below:

Tuesday, April 8 – English I
Thursday, April 10 – English II
Tuesday, April 15 – Biology
Tuesday, April 22 – Algebra I
Wednesday, April 23 – U.S. History

Grade-Level Testing Information:

9th Grade students will take: English I, Biology, and Algebra I
10th Grade students will take: English II
11th Grade students will take: U.S. History

To help your student be successful, we kindly ask for your support with the following:

Ensure your student gets a good night’s sleep before each test.
Make sure they arrive at school on time, ready and focused.
Encourage them to do their best and communicate with their teachers if they have any questions.

We’re proud of the hard work our students have put in all year and are confident they’ll do well. Thank you for your continued support in helping them succeed!

Coffee With The Principal

I’d like to personally invite you to our next Coffee with the Principal on Wednesday, April 16th at 9:00 AM in Room 109.

This is a great opportunity for us to connect in a relaxed setting, discuss what’s happening on campus, and hear your thoughts, questions, or suggestions. Whether you’re a regular attendee or it’s your first time, I’d love for you to join the conversation.

Your partnership and perspective are incredibly valuable as we work together to support our students’ success.

AP Exam Dates

We’re entering an exciting season as our students prepare to showcase their hard work and dedication through the upcoming AP exams. These tests are an important opportunity for students to earn college credit and demonstrate their academic growth.

Please note the following important reminders to help your student be prepared:

All AP exams will take place in the small gym.
Morning exams require students to arrive early and on time. Please help ensure your student gets a good night’s rest and arrives promptly.
Students scheduled to test at 11:30 AM will be released for lunch at 11:00 AM and must report to the small gym by 11:30 AM sharp.
Encourage your student to stay in close communication with their AP teachers, who are great resources for final preparation and support.

We’re proud of our AP students and all they’ve accomplished this year. Thank you for partnering with us to make sure they are ready and confident going into their exams!

As we continue to focus on providing our students with the best educational experience possible, I wanted to take a moment to highlight the critical importance of consistent attendance.

At El Paso High School, we believe that every day matters. Our goal is to ensure that each student has the opportunity to succeed academically, and that starts with showing up to school. Unfortunately, our attendance rates have not been where we’d like them to be, and we need your support to improve this.

Research consistently shows that regular attendance is one of the strongest predictors of academic success. When students are present, they not only benefit from classroom instruction but also build relationships with their peers and teachers—two things that are essential for a positive and thriving learning environment.

Here's how you can help:

Encourage your student to attend school every day, unless they are sick or have a valid reason for being absent.
Communicate with us if there are any challenges preventing your child from attending school regularly. We’re here to support both you and your student.
Stay informed by checking your child's attendance records regularly on the parent portal.

We know that if our students are here at El Paso High, they will have the tools and support they need to be successful. Let's work together to make sure they’re present and ready to learn every day.
