Greetings!
We made it through our first quarter! It was hot to say the least. I have high hopes that things will cool down once we return from fall break. Fingers crossed!
This also concludes our watermelon popsicle block. We have harvested countless watermelons from our garden. Most were delicious, but some were duds. We fed those to the chickens (yes, chickens are back on campus). We will begin an entomology block when we return. I will borrow bugs from ASU’s collection and I will also bring in pill bugs and worms from my home garden. Our microscope arrived (thanks Lauren) and we will be viewing some insect features under the microscope.
Thank you to the parents for coming to our parent workday! We accomplished a lot (I did not take any photos). Some dads even volunteered to come out again on October 12th to help with some other projects. Shout out Shaw dads!

We are always seeking coffee grounds, seeds, aluminum cans and MASON JARS. PLEASE, NO MORE EGGSHELLS. If you have anything that might benefit our garden program, please contact me via email. Otherwise, the front table outside of the office is our designated drop-off location for garden essentials.
