A Note from Mrs. Everson, Principal

Don't forget our Salyards doors open at 7:20 AM each morning. First period begins at 7:45 AM. Afternoon dismissal begins at 3:10 PM. Students must clear the campus by 3:30 PM or be with a staff member for after-school practice/tutoring.

Car Rider Parents

We appreciate all of the families who have followed our car rider procedures. You understand the incredible undertaking that has been placed upon us at Salyards MS. Safety is our number one priority. We are completing the entire AM car rider loading and PM unloading procedure in approximately 20 minutes. Be sure to continue pulling all the way to the front of the line, past the crosswalk, to allow as many students as possible to be dropped off and picked up in a timely manner.

If you are not joining the car rider line, please be courteous and do not park on the side of Medley Green or Fairfield Place, or cut in front of other cars. This creates congestion and a gridlock for all traffic patterns.

To keep our large group of hiker/bikers safe coming to school and going home, we’d like to offer reminders for drivers and students.

For Drivers:

Do not turn while the crossing guard has control of the intersection. Wait for the guard to signal it is safe to proceed.
Be aware of pedestrians and cyclists. Slow down and be extra cautious before and after school.

For Hiker/Bikers:

Bikes must be walked through the crosswalk.
Cross at the designated crosswalk. Don’t try to cross in between cars or where it is not safe.
Never cross the crosswalk without the crossing guard’s direction. Wait for the guard to signal you to cross.
Pay attention to the crossing guard’s instructions. They are there to keep you safe!
Remove earbuds and put away phone while crossing.
