FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
Another wonderful week at Fr. Doyle School! Each day that our classrooms are filled with students and our students are filled with the joy of learning is a blessing! We have a busy few weeks approaching, including the parish Snowflake Bazaar (see flyer below!), Columbus Day weekend, flu clinic, parent-teacher conferences, and our annual walkathon and fun run.
This year more than ever I am grateful for these events and our Father Doyle school community. While we may not be able to celebrate these events in the same way we have in the past, I will nonetheless cherish being able to share them with all the members of our school community in the weeks ahead.
FJVD Walkathon & Fun Run!
Our annual Walkathon & Fun Run is scheduled for the week of October 26th! In accordance with RIDOH guidelines, we will be spreading our walkathon & fun run events across the whole week, with select grade levels walking and/or running on each day. Parent(s)/guardian(s) should have received an email today with more information regarding our partnership with Anython.com, donation goals, and more! We're excited to get started and look forward to another great event this year!
FJVD School Mass:
Celebrating Mass together is an essential part of our identity as a Catholic school. With this in mind, we are pleased to once again be able to celebrate school Mass together next week. In order to abide closely to all RIDOH guidelines, Mass will be held on two separate days - Tuesday, October 6th for Grades 1-4 and Wednesday, October 7th for Grades 5-8. Students will remain six feet apart at all times, with fourteen feet between stable groups.
Thank you to Fr. Woolley for all of his hard work in planning and preparing for these Masses, ensuring that we can safely come together as a school community.
Parent-Teacher Conferences:
Parent-teacher conferences will be held on the afternoon of Thursday, October 15th (3pm-7pm) and during the day of Friday, October 16th (7:30am-12:00pm). Based upon current guidelines from RIDE and RIDOH, conferences will be held virtually. Sign-up and scheduling forms, as well as more details regarding video-conferencing platforms, will be sent home at the start of next week.
Flu Clinic: This year it is more important than ever to receive your flu shot! Father Doyle will be hosting our annual flu clinic on October 15th. Additional precautions are being taken to ensure a safe experience for all who attend. Please see the flyer attached under Forms and Important Documents for more information. Thank you!
FJVD Spirit Wear:
The PTO is thrilled to launch a new line of FJVD Spirit Wear!
Items include: hoodies, quarter-zip tops, vests, beanies, hats, jackets, and much, much more!
You can view the full spirit-wear store by viewing the webpage here: https://teamlocker.squadlocker.com/#/lockers/fjvd-school. Ordering is done entirely online, and items ship directly to your home.
Probable Cases & Testing Procedures: The Department of Health has released additional resources for families regarding how to proceed if your child has symptoms at home or becomes ill at school. You can find the RIDOH Resources for Families here. Please note, if your child is experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 that indicate a probable case, please call 844-857-1814 from 7:30am-9:30pm seven days a week schedule a test through the K-12 Testing Network. You should also notify the school as soon as possible.
If your child is experiencing symptoms and is being tested, two tests will be conducted at the K-12 testing site - a rapid test with results within 24 hours, and a PCR test with results within 48 hours. Please note, students are not permitted to return to school until both tests are negative and symptoms have resolved. In addition, families must complete the After Illness Return Attestation Form which can also be found on the homepage of our school website under "Important Links."
Have a great weekend everyone! God bless and Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This provides new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
