Happy Fall Y'all!
It's hard to believe that we are already in the "pumpkin spice" time of year. We are almost halfway through the 1st trimester and we have been so busy!
We are preparing for our students to begin taking home their chrome books each day. Parents of 3rd and 4th graders - please send in your student's cases and chargers so we can make sure all students have them and that they are working. Our current 2nd graders already have these at school so they are ready to go!
If you haven't already, please make sure to participate in our popcorn fundraiser - see the flyer below. This is our biggest fundraiser that supports all our student activities.
We also have lots of parent/family events this month as well: The Erin's Law Information Parent Zoom night is on 10/10, and the Pro-Kids Family Show will be held at Columbia Central on 10/25!
Oh - yeah - and don't forget HALLOWEEN! Our SIC parade will begin at 9 am (weather permitting), and our parties will start afterwards at around 9:30. Please contact your child's teacher for specific classroom party information.

Character Counts at SIC!
I have been teaching for 35 years-all but two of them in Steger School District 194. I have worked along some dynamic teachers and, as a result, have learned so many things. During my time here, I have met so many amazing kids and their parents. I am blessed to say that I still keep in touch with many of them. This is what I will miss the most- open houses with new and old friends stopping by to say hello and catch up. It was a difficult decision to leave what has been my “home away from home,” for so long, but it is time to try something new. What that is, I have no idea, but time will tell. I want to thank all of the people who have crossed my path and become part of “Warwickland.” Thank you to the students for enriching my life, thank you to the parents who worked with me to give their kids the best educational experience possible and thank you to all my SD194 colleagues for showing me every day what hard work looks like.
Early Pick-Ups
Parents - Learning ends at 2:30pm at SIC - then pack up for home begins - you can expect students to walk out of the building at 2:36 pm. When students are picked up early, it disrupts the class and your student misses out on learning. It also affects their attendance. Whenever possible, please schedule appointments for after school. We appreciate your cooperation.
