Lake Orion HS Newsletter
Week of October 28th

Week of April 7, 2025
Dear Students and Parents,
As the weather begins to warm up (despite the possibility of some unwelcomed snow), we want to remind everyone that our school dress code remains in effect. While we may be a bit more relaxed, we still ask that students avoid wearing tops with spaghetti straps, tube tops, tops that expose the back, short shorts, white tank top undershirts, see-through clothing, and any clothing with references to drugs or alcohol.
Additionally, please keep in mind that the temperature in the building can fluctuate, so dressing appropriately for these conditions is important.
We are also approaching the end of Term 3, which means students will have half-days on Thursday and Friday this week. Please refer to the schedule below for more details.
Furthermore, we have State testing over the next two weeks. It is crucial that students who are scheduled to test are present in school. Those who are not scheduled to test must complete the virtual assignments assigned by their classroom teachers.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in helping us maintain a respectful and conducive learning environment.
Best regards,
LOHS Administration

REMINDER - Important Parking Information
As a reminder, Lake Orion High School is going through a construction period that will change the parking availability for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year.
The lower pool entrance lot will not be available for parking as the construction of the new auxiliary gym is taking place. Additionally, the current student lot will be altered to make room for the community pool parking needs. Additional parking will be available south of the football stadium in the lots marked "D" on the diagram. Please be patient and give yourself an extra 5-10 minutes of time in the morning as we all adjust to this change.
Please refer to the map below for a visual of the changes that went into effect March 24, 2025.
Parent University
The LOCS Parent University series continues in May with opportunities for high school and elementary parents.
High School families (parents and students) can attend a college essay writing session the evening of May 5 at Lake Orion High School.
Elementary families have the opportunity to learn math games for high impact fluency practice at home. There will be two opportunities for the math games -- Grades 3-5 on May 13 at Blanche Sims Elementary and Grades K-2 on May 20 at Carpenter Elementary. The elementary event is for adults only.

Student Parking Passes
Student parking passes are currently sold out, however more will become available on April 14. Students will need to show their driver’s license and the registration to the vehicle they will be driving to school to Mrs. Mardlin in the main office.
Please note, payment will not be collected until the pass becomes available. Reminder that students are not permitted to drive to school without having a pass.
