Welcome:
Letter From The CEO:
Summer is over, fall is here, and that means many of our adult events are back. Food for Thoughts breakfast and dinners start up again this month, and the September topic is crime and crime prevention. Signup is required to attend. If you’re looking for something more light-hearted, join us for our Nonsense Debate Club, where we’ll spend a couple evenings arguing low-stakes questions for the pure joy of it. (Is a hot dog a sandwich? Join us to make your case for or against!)
Book Club returns also, and the first title to read is Woolly: the True Quest to Revive One of History’s Most Iconic Creatures by Ben Mezrich. Read it soon so you’re ready to discuss it at the end of the month. All who read the book are welcome. On the other end of the reading spectrum, we’re rebooting the library’s Writers Group. We’ll meet on Monday mornings, and during September we’ll develop our personal writing plans as well as expectations for the group, so if you’ve ever considered joining now is the best time.
Storytime continues throughout the month for the itty-bittys who aren’t in school, and we’ve got a special Teen Hang-Out Time in place toward the end of the month. For more info about all of our classes and events, keep reading.
Please be aware that we’ll be closed on Monday, September 5 for Labor Day, and we’ll be closed on Thursday, September 8 while staff attend the Colorado Association of Libraries conference to learn how to serve you better.
Happy autumn, and happy reading!
Amie P.
Library CEO
