Hello Elk Neck Elementary Families,

We can't believe that we are a little over a week away from welcoming students! Tomorrow, teachers and staff return and begin engaging in professional learning. This year, we will focus on student academic achievement through continuous improvement. Continuous improvement involves students in setting goals for their learning and identifying what they need to do to achieve them. Students will monitor their progress toward their goals throughout the school year.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Books, Beats, and Eats: A Special North East Community Back to School Bash last week. Mrs. Whitney loved seeing everyone's smiling faces. We will announce the raffle winners this week on our school's Facebook page.

Please take a few moments to read through the information in this update. The Car Rider Letter and Free and Reduced Meal Application for 24-25 are both linked below for families. We are also excited to announce that FREE breakfast is available for ALL students this school year! Look for more information below.

Don't forget that our annual Back to School Social will take place at Elk Neck Elementary on Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 3:30-5:00 p.m. Students can meet their teachers and enjoy a popsicle from PTO. Families will also have the opportunity to join our PTO. This AMAZING group of parents works hard to provide fun, enriching events for our students throughout the year.

We can't wait to have students back in our school again! We look forward to a great year of learning together.

We are excited to announce that ALL students are eligible to receive a FREE breakfast on school days. Students can select a FREE grab-and-go breakfast when entering the school in the morning. A nutritious breakfast is essential to being ready to learn each day.

Dinner & Presentation: "Writing Conferences as a Path to Independent Writing" with Dr. Vicki McQuitty of the Maryland Writing Project

CCLC Members= $19, Non-Members= $30

Whether you teach or you parent, enjoy a pit beef dinner and learn how to hold results-oriented conversations about writing with kids, regardless of their age.
