Hello WMS Families,

Welcome to our September newsletter! As we embrace the Fall season and all the exciting events it brings, we're thrilled to share updates, important reminders, and engaging activities happening at Washington Middle School. Stay tuned for a month filled with growth, learning, and fun!

What's going on around our campus?

SouthArk Outdoor Expo Art Contest!

Mrs. Ashcraft's Studio Art students are competing in the annual Outdoor Expo Art Contest. Students are encouraged to use critical thinking skills in their works of art to address the question “Who is My Hero?”. Their work will be displayed Saturday, September 7th inside the El Dorado Conference Center. Come check out the awesome art!

First Responder Thank You Cards

During the month of September, students have the opportunity to thank our first responders by writing a thank you note or card. The House with the most cards collected on the 30th will earn 20 house points! The house boxes will be in the 200 building for you to place your cards.

Fall Yearbook Picture Day

This is a friendly reminder that Fall Yearbook Picture Day is coming up! Make sure to mark your calendars and prepare for the big day.

Tips for a Great Picture:

  • Wear your favorite school-appropriate outfit.
  • Keep your hair neat and tidy.
  • Smile and be yourself!

These photos will be featured in the school yearbook, so make sure to come prepared. We look forward to seeing everyone’s smiling faces!

Upcoming Events

House Color Wars

Thursday, 9/5 is our first Color War of the year! Color Wars are always the first Thursday of each month and are a time when students get to go ALL OUT in their house colors! Face paint, tutus, anything that screams your house color!

Family Feast on the Field

Friday, 9/6 is our Family Feast on the Field! All students are allowed to have no more than 2 adults to eat lunch with them. Be sure to fill out the form to let us know you will be attending by following the link below or scanning the QR code provided. We can't wait to see you there!

Freedom Week

Join us as we honor and embrace the values of liberty and unity during Freedom Week! 🎉 Let's reflect on our history and the freedoms that make us stronger together! Don't forget to dress up and show your school spirit!
